It's one of the biggest such events in the States and all proceeds go toward local charities and scholarships. The display cars (4000 street rods a year on average) have to all be pre-49 (though I did notice some post-49 in the swap meet area this year). There's always tons of beautiful chrome and steel, from mint or near mint to rust-bucket jalopies and rat rods. I ... Right now, our's is disconnected, and we'll probably have to take it in for repair. Although guitars can be expensive, they are no where close to what classic cars go for. For example, my dream guitar would be an original 57 6120 gretsch. You could find an original for 10K ish or a new repro for 2.5K. Expensive to be sure, but possible. When I see these classic cars going for 100s of thousands of dollars, I know it will never be obtainable, just a pipe dream. So it got me to wondering, ...
