| Oh sure Andi, but thing is that venues/sport halls are packed to the ceilings for such a horrible thing! And it's more like a yellow press program rather than a fight, you know, all the wives and friends putting up the fire.... and, do people really believe those fights are real?? Man, after having banged the head on the floor, those gladiators should be directly sent to the ER!!! |

| One very interesting aspect of this topic is the silent fans out there. How many people on this forum are taking a look at this topic and thinking to themselves "oh yea, i have watched it before and enjoyed it." I know I got a message from a forum member thanking me for my input because it brought back memories of when they used to watch the programming. I again encourage all input from all, and, I am just gonna go on another tangent to see what else can come of it. Is it a ridiculous product? Absolutely. Wanna know what else is? Porn, alcohol, tobacco and firearms. I would love if the 4 items I just mentioned were outlawed and prohibited from America. Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen. I understand that the "product" that this topic is surrounding is sweaty guys wrestling in their underwear, but as a fan for so long, I do understand viewing it as an art form. These individuals are putting on a play for the audience, where they appear to be beating one another up with several aerobatic acts, high falls, slams, and cause limited pain to one another. I think back to an interview with Bret Hart, a famous Canadian wrestler who made his name best known in the WWF before the "Montreal Incident" and his departure for WCW. (Wanna have a fun time, watch the documentary about that topic called "Wrestling With Shadows") Anyway, Bret Hart talked about how he suplexed his little brother off of the top of a 15 foot steel cage into to ring, and he remembers that moment being a little bittersweet because he was on the offensive of that maneuver, but he was the person in charge of that move. Bret was responsible for making sure Owen would land on the ringmat safely enough to not cause harm. It also holds a moment for Bret because of Owen's unfortunate and accidental death in an incident where he fell from the top of the rafters of the stadium, where he was supposed to repel to the ring in a superhero like fashion. The release mechanism malfunctioned and he fell something like 80 feet to his death in front of a sold out stadium, when the broadcast was being sent all over the world on Pay Per View. Again, just my commentary of things I have picked up from being a nerd for these past 26 years. I love the product and the history it has, I find it fascinating. -BK |

| I won't go as far as calling myself a fan. But I used to enjoy watching wrestling when I was a kid, and I remember Hulk Hogan, Andrč the Giant, Roddy Piper, and that-guy-with-the-snake (forgot his name, but not his bikini-clad hottie ), plus a few more names, if I twist my head a bit. Our national network did NOT show wrestling, but we had Swedish television on cable. These days we have a lot more channels than we did back then, but I haven’t found one that airs wrestling... | tvthewiredturtle wrote: | | say you love starwars.. |

Oh, ya got me!
I've loved wrestling since I was a kid. I'm a HUGE fan of the Hulkster! Hulk Hogan, that is. He was the man - that whole era of wrestlers, back in the '80s, just pure entertainment. I don't really have any favorites nowadays, but if I'm flipping through the channels and wrestling is on, eyes are glued, ass is planted.
PS - "NACHO LIBRE" is a SWEET movie. I thought it was hilarious... I can't understand why nobody likes it, even Jack Black fans. I think it's one of his better movies. It's just so ridiculous, it HAS to be funny.

| My favorite line from Nacho Libre is from the song: "I ate some bugs, I ate some grass, I used my hand to wipe my...tears away!" Now that's poetry! |
