| Imelda's CD Love Tattoo was finally released in the US a few months ago. Shoot, I saw it in Target last week. Target! How's that for mainstream? I could find Imelda May, but not Brian Setzer! Off Target-billy |

| 'Cause Imelda seems to be more rockin' than BSO nowadays??? That's why Target doesn't have Lonely Ave.... |

| Target has actually had Lonely Avenue, and even placed it in their Sunday ad the week it was released, but most stores only stocked a few copies, and so it was hard to find if you didn't get to the right store early enough on release day. The day it came out was also the day Target put out a display of Christmas CDs for the first time in 2009. Nowhere in their inventory were any BSO Christmas CDs. I searched three of my Target stores for two weeks before finding a copy of Lonely Avenue. And while that was disappointing, I was most definitely excited to see Miss Imelda May on an endcap of "up and coming artists." Wishing Imelda much success and a few live appearances in the US, Mrs. Higham-billy |

| I saw it Brett, but it looks like it was taken down as quick as it was posted. It said Imelda was opening for the Christmas tour on about half a dozen dates in the east/southeast. I hope they expand that and she comes out west too - I keep meaning to get Love Tattoo then other things catch my attention and I forget. I love her version of James Brown's "I'll Go Crazy." (but then, I just love that song all 'round.) |

| Interesting. I missed the post over there, of course, but I was wondering, did you happen to see any mention of an opening act for Wausau, WI? (The Grand Theater). Thanks, hrg _________________

| The only ones I am fairly certain I saw were the CT, SC and TN dates - so Twenty Flight Rick will get to see her, assuming those dates still hold true. |

| It is rather bizarre that she's in Target. That's not to say she doesn't deserve it but it does seem odd. I just looked at the listing for Love Tattoo on Amazon UK and it lists her record label as Decca?? Could that have something to do with it? |

| Love Tattoo's been out in the UK for just over a year. It picked up a US distributor in August. It's much like Kitty, Daisy, and Lewis, who have been on the UK radar awhile only to finally get some US distribution late this summer, or a rockabilly trio from Massapequa that had a couple of albums out overseas before getting anything released in the US. Of course, with the internet, imports are easier than ever to track down these days. I actually purchased Love Tattoo from iTunes earlier this year before her entry was revised to show the August release date. I completely missed that she would be touring with the BSO for at least some of the dates. What would be really cool is if her husband / guitar player, noted Eddie Cochran scholar Darrel Higham, would join Brian for some tunes in the "small group" portion of the show. | I'm not thrilled with the first half of the album.. sounds like Gwen Stefani of no doubt meets Marty Brom. (more to my wife's liking) When Imelda starts belting her voice then I hear the originality and feel the swingin. She's got soul and it needs to come out.. bet it does live!! |
