I've never heard Stray Cats doing Little Miss Prissy live, I know there are slide guitar overdubs on the original but I'm sure the Cats could do a great version live, I'm surprised this wasn't a big feature of their live set from '82 onwards!
If these guys can manage a pretty good version, just think what the Cats could do.....

Yeah 'Little Miss Prissy' has a great video, it even looks kind of live!
But are there any live recordings of Stray Cats doing it Audio or Video?
I don't understand why they wouldn't do this live, any suggestions?

Little Miss PRissy has scarcely been played live in 1982, at least I have a live recording with it on the set; don't know why it wasn't included anymore, but that's one of my fav and best tunes!

I totally agree, Jon. I guess you're talkin' about the gigs in Lyon and Nice early Febuary 1982. Don't know why the Stray Cats dropped this cool song - which is also one of my faves - from the set list.

maybe the Who threatened them for snakin "my generation" because Chuck berry was threatening both of them for nicking "Memphis Tennessee"...
ps. love this Smothers Brothers broadcast of The Who doing it right.... wish I could have had that Vox amp...

The Cats' image in London/Europe was much more gritty and imo sexually charged when they first started than the MTV packaging that they eventually received in the States. MTV sought to package them as lovable teenage hoodlums, rather than grown young men on the prowl for a good time. Can you imagine a video for Setzer's profane version of "Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie", or "Wasn't that Good"? Sure, sex sells, but when you're dealing with parents of teenage girls, it's got to be non threatening, even though they attracted older fans, such as myself, who were pleasantly surprised by the raucous nature of the live concerts. The vibe of those concerts were completely different from the MTV video stuff; they were, amazing. I think it's a major reason they broke up initially in '84; they needed to be able to "grow up".which they did, personally and professionally. The "rebound" result has only been to our benefit as fans. We have seen Brian grow as an artist , to heights we would not have even contemplated back then. Slim continues as a phenomenal drummer, and Lee has his own projects as well. At the end of the day, these guys were in the right place, at the right time, and Setzer in particular, has shown himself to br a shrewd entrepreneur (and I have no problem with that.) Really glad we're getting a Christmas tour this year!
