Vince Ray rocking Gretsch and a Nocturne on tour, anyone else?

You may know vince ray by his illustration work for Brian Setzer
and Gretsch..

got some picts sent by Vince as he is touring with his gretsch and
the Nocturne pedal. Thought I'd share as its cool to see faces with the pedal.
would love to see all you guys with your guitar and nocturne.
I am building a website and want a section for something like this.

Technically the same person, just 19 kilos less of her! She was in there before but she'd been hiding for a few years. Still got plenty of work to do inside and out, but it's nice to be back! I'm still every inch a tomboy, so the red Cons were back on as soon as the camera was put away Pete!! (As I said to another friend, one day I'll be able to wear that dress on a date with an actual fella instead of just a date with my guitar in the backyard. Heh.)



Since currently I have no amp and no talent, I'm glad I at least have photos with the pedal - I have offered to long-term loan my Nocturne to a friend who will be able to make some amazing sounds with it. I hope he takes me up on it. Not that I need further confirmation that Tavo has made a fantastic product...

that should sell a few more Hot Rods.

don't feel too bad- I have an amp (I wouldn't say I have the chops down, but I'm working on it ), and I have had the Nocturne for about two weeks, but I have yet to plug in because my basement is in a current updating project...and my amp is in the spare room along with all of the basement furniture. At this point, I feel like I'll never get it done, but I come home from work everyday and take a gander at the glowing orange goodness and strum my gretsch for a little while to take the edge off of not being able to plug in.

I should find my little battery powered mini tonemaster amp...that's a non-master fender amp

Lost a little pieces on the paint job but other than that it works just fine.

Like I've said elsewhere (probably in PM) my bassman really needed an overhaul.
So I finally had some cash but the main priority was now was to get a decent PA kit for practising.
I bought a 16 chan mixer and a 2x500w poweramp, yesterday ordered a new michrophone
for vocals too and that set me back moneywise quite a bit.
With that cash I could buy a Marsh head I suppose...

And of course, right after the PA-dealio the bassman totally crapped out on me.

It is howlin' more than I do so I stopped using it, running that VOX-blasphemy pedal straight to mixer
and it ain't no bassman but it has to do for now until I can scrape more cash.

Been browsing couple of days now for tubes. Found Tun Sol 5881 that runs on 23 watts
and im wondering if thats the powertube to get.

I can also get 12AX7AC7 Ruby Tube from Sweden which is pretty close by.

If I start ordering tubes from states it will add lotsa for shipping and customs etc. so I try to find those tubes in Finland or
atleast EU area. Heh, I need to "lurk moar".

Since im pretty much colorblind and don't know shit from shinola in electronics, I've found a dude close by who's
going to do some repairing on that amp. But first im just ordering some basic parts like tubes etc. cuz I need to change those anyways.

I need to figure out if the amp needs capacitor-job and possibly what else is broken in there, and I need to get me couple of
V30 Celestions and if trannies needs "work" or whatvere, I need to figure out what's the codes for replacements (mercurys)...


Well, lets just say it ain't going to be cheap and it ain't happening overnight. Porbably some months before I got enough cash
to get it repaired, so im stuck with the VOX now. (...got Nocturne in front of that anyways to add some cohones!)

Hows your proto amp coming up? Are you gonna make a head version or is it just a 1x12 combo?
For me a 1 channel head would be nice, I think the the speaker magnetic weights a metric ton and just adds up on shipping costs.

When I get some rough estimates how much my amp costs in repairs, I may go for a Marsh amp or something if
repairs going to cost me an arm and a leg. One option is to get some guy in Finland to build me a Normal channel head,
I've found a schema so it shouldn't be too difficult, not too many parts inside. (I've never used the Bass channel.)

That's for now. We're doing some giggin' so I get a little extra dineros from there, but anyways it's going to be couple of
months before my bassman is up'n'runnin.

If I could just get my Metaltronix M-1000 Lee Jakson head (back from 80's) sold I'd probably get some cash.
