Refretting a Hot Rod with Dunlop 6105's Empty

After 10 years of constant abuse my gretsch hot rod needs a refret. I want to go with the Dunlop 6105's and after looking through the forum I saw that Tavo had these fitted to one of his gretsch's a couple of years ago and he said they were fitted "with a little off the top" a la setzer.
How much needs to come off them?

Paul Waller of the Fender custom shop handled the refret.. I told him do give it what setzer told tvjones to give the 6105 stainless wire.. "A little off the top and bulbous end". He did just that but even with a little off the top these are still huge frets from the stock ones and I cant believe setzer uses the 10gauge spaghetti strings.. its a perfect recipe for 80s hair band style sweep picking :)I need 11gauge but I dont have a light touch, setzer does indeed.
Also be prepared for the guitar to brighten up significantly..its amazing.
