Whaaa? I woke up at 9:30 this morning trying to figure out why my eyes were blurry, my ears were pounding, my throat was sore and I was sooooo tired. Then I remembered.
Last night I got hit by a semi tractor-trailer full of musical fun. I was stomping, hooting, hollering, dancing and rocking out all night!
Elvis' 75th Birthday Bash at Joe's Great American Bar & Grill in Burbank was THE party to be at last night. Two full sets of nothing but Elvis, then a third set of some seriously exciting rock and roll and rockabilly.
Joe Finkle and the 7/10 Splits features our own peeteycat and Scatman, along with amazing guitarman John "Gunsmoke!" Snoke, Johnny "Spazz" Hatton on bass and skin-pounder extraordinaire (and I don't say that lightly) Bernie Dresel.
The music flat out rocked all night long.
They played to a packed house - it was SRO!
The dance floor was jammed:
Check out a couple of YouTube videos Joe uploaded - this was the first time they'd played these songs!

Cool! Glad you got to go Andi. It looks like you had a great time.
Those hoodlums known as Joe Finkle & The 7/10 Splits are a dangerous looking bunch.

Dangerous indeed.
Joe skins tigers and wears 'em to gigs 'cause he can't wear 'em to Costco.
Bernie takes out all his aggression on those drums - often with a big smile. That's just scary.
Spazz will goose you when you're not lookin'.
John Snoke, AKA "Gunsmoke," looks nice and harmless... till you hear how mean he treats that guitar. It'll need therapy later!
And Alex, well... they don't call him Alvis and the Boy Soprano for nothin'!
I shot two videos with my camera last night:

Wow, GREAT guitar player! Why haven't I heard about this guy before...?
Cool band altogether (I already kinda knew that the rhythm section was decent... )
