oh totally man! i can pretty much play most setzer solos now like, along with it but just a few seconds after cause he reuses all these sweet solos. I can kinda tell where hees goin alot of the time cause of the way he ties licks together. maybe i should put together a comprehensive setzer lick compilation!!! thatd be sick!

Imho every guitarplayer is doing this.
Its like speaking a language.
Some people just have a few words and terms and some got a lot to tell.
Brian is definetely one of the garrulous type.

What's wrong with repeating phrases in a solo?

Absolutely nothing! Just look at T-Bone Walker, easily one of the most recognizable players ever.

I would like to say that I DO NOT find it offensive so im hoping its just you. What I actually find offensive is some humourless, puritanical nitwit who disguises himself as a rock n roller and then sets himself up as a moral guardian of the people by drawing our attention to tame innuendo that wouldnt even get noticed half the time if it wasnt for it getting pointed out by your good self. Anyway whilst on the subject of usernames, who are you aspiring to with YOUR username?

Before this gets into a situation where long-time members of this forum start turning on one another, I should point out that the Beav had many more than 6 posts on their first day infecting this board, and actually started what could have been some very interesting topics. However, these relevant Setzer topics acted as something of a Trojan horse for all kinds of out-of-control profanity-laced mayhem beyond the slightly humorous but mostly sophomoric double entendre of Eaton Beaver. The person was here to cause a bit of trouble, and that extended far beyond the username.

Trust me, booty, if you had visited the site this weekend, you would have seen a _____load of content I think would make even those who aren't so easily offended uncomfortable. It reached beyond those who are more PC or slightly more uptight than others. It didn't start with the Beav and it didn't end with the Beav, either (see latest registered member name). They could be the same person, or a series of people, but their purpose is to offend and irritate and drive people from this board, cause trouble among the members (as you have unwittingly demonstrated) or harrass the moderators until they close the forum. I, for one, appreciate the efforts of Tavo and the other moderators for the work they have put in removing the offensive content.

I consider my sense of humor rather varied. I like comics who don't work "blue" like Bill Cosby and the Smothers Brothers (and others who aren't over 70.) But I also enjoy some raunchy humor, both intelligently and not-so-intelligently presented - comedians like Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, George Carlin, and Greg Giraldo... (and others who aren't dead). This just isn't the place for that kind of content.

Uh, I guess that from time to time Brian repeats some of those licks, but I wouldn't say he does that very often. What guitar player can you name that after a career of over 30 years has never repeated a guitar lick in a few songs??

I am not a guitar expert nor a follower of any others apart from Brian but I would put my arm in the fire and I am 100% sure that even the greatest guitar players ever have done that quite a few times (ex: Van Halen - well, for me he sounds the same note after note -, Jeff Beck, Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, BB King...)

Note for Brentt:

Ironically I left this particular post(after axing some 20+) in hopes it would be an interesting discussion despite the person's horrible user name(and some of their other registration names).

I have added some "Safety" protocol to follow new registrant IP address and have
changed the flood control setting to 15 seconds pause between posts in hopes
it gives enough time for one another to think things through a bit before pushing
that "Send" button.

Brett,
sorry about that, though the "Bernie Dresel" thing was for you anyway and you realised ;-)

JC, John Cunningham... I love the sound of your surname, Cunningham! Call me an idiot, in the good sense, but is it me or is it that the English surnames sound much better than the Spanish ones?? Nonetheless, I like it!

My surname in Irish (Gaelic) is Ui Liathain. Try pronouncing that. We've veered off topic, Sorry.
