Raising Filtertron Empty
PostSubject: Raising Filtertron   Raising Filtertron Icon_minitimeTue Mar 01, 2011 1:08 pm

Im raising the FMIC filtertrons on my 06 country club. Removed the shims, but think the mouse pad material might effect tone. Wouldnt a thicker wood shim be the way to go?
How is the sound effected if the pick up is too high?
Thanks,

I tried both spacer options, neo pad and wood shim. Not a great difference but the wood shim was what i went with. I split the plys of some luan and sanded em down to spec. I didnt realize how much an eighth up would make. My stock filters now have snap and growl. Not quit the clarity of my TV Classics but a huge improvement. Got the neck pup a little too close to the top E string at first and boy was it Boomin.
Backed it off a bit and sweetness!
Im sure this topic has been kicked to death but It took me 2 years to be inspired get er done.
Thanks Tavo.
