Was it at the Rockpalast ?

Nah, I don't think it's Rockpalast. First of all, this show is in daylight (and obviously from 1981; not '83), and on the '81 Rockpalast Brian plays through a Vox AC30. On this clip, he plays through the ("signature"? ) Fender Bassman.

The user that's uploaded these three clips is listed as from the Netherlands, so it could be this show...? (info nicked from the Anchorman's Stray Cats Eventology)

Then again, it looks like it's shot during an outdoor festival (April might be too early for that...?), so I don't really know anything...

Yeah, it's absolutely great getting a chance to watch 'new' old footage, I bet there's a ton of old concert material out there.

It's defenitaly dutch. In the beginning of ubangi you can see a banner that reads muziek express. At the end of that clip above the stage there is a sign that says VARA. This is a dutch television and radio network.

Here's a tip for you.
Whilst watching the video open up a new browser window and type in www.vixy.net
Then copy the youtube url from the right hand side of the video and paste it into the box provided on the vixy page.
It will then convert the video,you then download it to your computer and simply burn it to DVD.
I have just learned of this site but thought I was behind the times and you would all be doing something similar.
Maybe not.
Anyway,I am at the gathering stage so far,haven't burnt a DVD from the videos yet but am assured it's an easy process.
You can also choose to convert for iPod use.

Hiya Anders,

I don't think that's the gig. Merwedehal is the Dutch word for multi-purpose-hall, and this is an open-air gig. I believe it's the 1981/82 Pink-Pop Festival in Kerkrade, The Netherlands. I too have these clips somewhere on VHS, and they are from a TV show that showed highlights from some of the gigs. Usually, this festival goes on over a 3-day-period ..... been a loooong time since they had something as cool as the Stray Cats on the roster though .....

The gig you refer to is from the Dutch TV Show COUNTDOWN, which I also have on VHS.
