So, if a chick buys a guitar, does she give it a chick name (ie Rosie, Maybelline, Lucille, Gretschen) or a fella name?

Doesn't have to be a "chicks" name. Whatever you call it you call it. I call mine Gretschen simply because it's a Gretsch and being of Austrian descent Gretschen fits perfectly. I guess you could call it Garry/Gavin Gretsch. BTW, great choice of guitar (mine's the Tiger Flame). We should get them together and see if they mate and we get some mini Gretsches. Laughing

Take care Andi.

uh, Andi...

Holy cow! You got an SSLVO? Holy cow!

I guess if you're gonna learn to play, it might as well be on the best! So, what kind of amp are you playing through?

Congrats,
Bear85

PS: My vote is for 'Andrew'. Or maybe 'Andreus Maximus'.

Its bad luck to name your guitar after a person...a guitar will never leave you-argue-or hold anything against you. Yet it always waits for you like a secret friend.

None, yet. On Tuesday the guitar arrives at my dad's house in California (where I will be all next week). Since I live in Australia, the amp has to be 240V, so I won't buy one till I get home in December.

As for naming it, I'll play it by ear. Very Happy

I've been drinking Trader Vic Mai tai's (sailor jerry rum & TV mix) with the wife whilst decorating the Xmas tree, so
naturally free thought is flowing. This is the name of your guitar...are you ready?

Hey, Andi, I know you're just getting started, and I hate to put the brakes on your creativity, but I think you might be going down the wrong road. I think you should use either a pick, or your fingers...
