Just got me a TIM pedal and I am in TIM heaven.
TIM and TvJones go hand in hand...alot of volum (treble and bass at 7 o`clock) and almost no Gain for me Very Happy

My Traynor (YCV40) dosen`t "breake" before the volum is over 6, but then I have blown my band off stage. With the help of TIM I can easlie "break" my amp on 2 and get a sound I can enjoy.

Now, I got my eyes on the T-Rex Reptile. Maybe the days of the Carl Martin Red Repeat is over.
Anyone who has the Reptile on their board ?

So, here's a question for you...

When using the TIM to get your amp to break at 2, does it sound like the amp breaking at 6? Or is it just "close enough for you to deal with it"? Do you need to re-EQ the amp at all when using the TIM/break at 2?

I think even better then 6, you adjust it with the Gain and volume knob, at least that`s how it works for me. I don`t like the drive and boost channel on the Traynor anymore. The sound is to hard and heavy for me, even after I put in some TungSol 5881.

I like the clean channel though, there the TungSol did give the amp a face lift i could enjoy. I don`t re-EQ the amp at all, for me it works as long as treble and bass is at 7 o`clock on TIM. There is alot of Treble in clean channel on the Traynor so I keep it on max 6 and presence about 5 or 6. To much of it will bring out the Tinius in my ears.

Go TIM!

Told ya!! cheers

Its by far the closest thing to get you that "tone" setzer really has created.

btw.. I had the trex replica, but not the reptile.. that was a superb piece of
equipment but through all of it and I mean awwwl of those pedals, tape echoes,etc..

I find the Tim and the 80s boss analog dm-2/dm-3 to bring it, when it comes to
a gretsch n blonde

Yes, Thank You Very Happy TIM really opened new doors for me, wonder where have I been the 10 last years... scratch

I will give the Replica and the Reptile a shot even if it is pretty expensive. I like the Red Repeat together with TIM but I need to see if those other boxes go better, typical guitarist which have become stompbox junkie... Laughing

By the way, I think the Option 5 Rotation Destination has a suberb Leslie effect, I want one of those as well Embarassed , SRV - Cold Shot sound.

Would you say that the Replica is the closest echo pedal to the RE-301 ?

pretty tasty pedal, just like the diamond TIM heaven 832

...but the digital factor(even if some "say" there is an analogue signal path) just makes me say no... I really liked how it came close, as did the Mr. echo
TIM heaven Mr-echo-pedal

it operates very organically like it, but unless you are using analog opamp circuitry its just not
going to do the same thing. The guitar gets chopped into digi-bits with pedal ADDA conversion,
there is a lack of real tape saturation and even the opamp gain cascading to the preamp tubes of
the amp and not responding the same way.....

If youre pure (die hard) then you dig it, otherwise it just aint worth the effort and the greater part of your
listening audience is not gonna hear a difference.

My sister thinks we are stupid because we live in a 1954 house with vintage furniture, but she lives in
a stucco palace and shops at Levitz.
Works for her and most people would agree, but like living mid century modern.. I like to use
stuff from the past to make new music. The new equip. is fun, efficient and does the job in a high tech
and low maintanence way.......... but
these parts inside the guitar, amp and delay speak to my soul:

TIM heaven JRC4558D

TIM heaven TWINREV-CAPS2

TIM heaven Sprague-cap-1-300
TIM heaven DM-2_in--2

than

something like this

there are a few RE-301 on sale here in Norway about $700, but for me it will not be practial to drag around on our gigs. My amp is on a diagonal Adam Hall amp stand so it would not fit.
Anyway, as said earlier the Replica does it for me these days.
Here a picture of my family...

if it is stock Vox V847 wah it is not true bypass and notorious for
muddy'n up your guitar signal. When the effect is on or off the guitar
signal is having to travel through all its circuit and the capacitance load
it creates really dials off your guitars presence.
a simple $10 DPDT carling on/off switch and a few reroutes of wiring and you
are golden.

Yes, it is stock V847 not modded.
Thanks for posting and leading me into safe tone harbor.
A DPDT is alreday ordered and a good "Electric" friend of mind is ready to modd Very Happy

Well, now I am off to try a TopHat Emplexador which they have in our local store godlyd.
Think I will try together with a Nash Tele (E-54 JB) Twisted Evil

Check out the link, they have alot of nice amps, guitars and effects.

Oh Boy the Emplexador MKII was awsome, ran throug a THD cab 4X12, my ears are still ringing Shocked
I immideatly fell for the fat switch, the sound was just raw and punchy. Did break up nicely and then I could just pull more and more until I thought it was enough.
Nas Telecaster had this "fat" neck which suited me perfectly and it had the real rich twang which a Tele should have.

BUT, what really surprised me was the TopHat Super Deluxe loaded with a Vintage 30. I ran it with a Suhr Classic Custom Strat. My o My what a sound, but pricey $ 3000. Also here I liked the fat switch and running the volume as high as possible. A thight richfull sound which got me going there and would suit me perfectly. Next time I will bring my G6120SSLVO, just to feeeel the tone even more, even though my eyes are still on the El Sonido or Marsh I love you

PS!
On my way out, I saw that they had got the Diamond Memory Lane 2, so I will hook that up with Super Deluxe. That should make a nice pair.
