I have some small tips or something similar. Most important practise it as often as possible. I guess I have a pretty good base in playing fingerstyle guitar as I've been playing classic spanish guitar twice as long as electric guitar. About a year ago I was very frustrated because I watched all those videos of Brian picking the hell out of the pinstripe hotrod and I couldn't even do a single lick or so. But I kept on practising and it really worked lol!

I guess the most important thing is to keep the thumb going independent from your other fingers. I still have problems with that when I try to play some Chet Atkins songs.
If I had tabs I would give them to you right away but the whole video was just some standard improvised stuff.
Do you have the HotLicks Video with Brian? He explains the pickin' part in Too hip gotta go which is pretty similar to what I've done in the video.
Another tip is a guy on youtube called "fast eddie" or something similar to that. He has some cool basic fingerpicking videos that could help you.
