| What are the chances that the Nashvillains will play some 68CBS stuff at the next couple shows in Doheny and Murphys? I mean, it's all Setzer right?

| Ever since 2006, they've managed to include several '68 CBS tunes, including Ignition, Hot Rod Girl, and 8-Track. I'm not sure about Dreamsville. I'm pretty sure they could handle the harmonies - hopefully Brian could still hit the high notes.

| I only thought to look at the track listing from "Red Hot and Live," I should've thought to go to Rocky Mountain Cat's setlist archive to see that of course they do 68CBS tunes! They haven't done Dreamsville according to the archive, but I'll definitely still hold out hope for it. Assuming he's in fine vocal form, I have faith in Brian's abilities to hit the requisite notes! Mr. Setzer, if you're reading, putting in my request now for Dreamsville at Doheny and/or Murphys. Thank you. See you there. | |

| Shoot, they did it with three of them (including Bernie, who can almost sing). I know Ronnie can sing - the Hillbilly Casino had some purty harmonies on that Christmas album. Now if Robbie Chevrier (assuming he's still on piano) can sing, you'll have 4-part harmony! Bring it on!

| I think that the Nashvillains will play something by the 68 CBS; Ignition is to me, probably the bes Setzer's album of the BSO & Trio era |

| If Brian ever did, do a new 68CBS, i hope he can get Bernie and Mark back as the rhythm section.
A bit of the old boogie music.

| I don't think anyone is expecting that Mark, just that'd be nice to hear some of the 68CBS songs when Brian plays live, particularly with the Nashvillains (I know that's what I'm hoping for!!) Bernie and Mark have long since moved onto other pastures, and I am really looking forward to seeing the Nashvillains for my first time ever. | |

| I have had this song on the brain for a couple of weeks now, and it occured to me this morning that in addition to the Nashvillains having a go at this song in possible 4-part harmony, the song could be INCREDIBLE if re-imagined with the BSO. When I heard "White Christmas" with the 2 Vixens and honorary Vixen Spazz Hatton on harmonies, I was very impressed. Not only could these guys and dolls give Dreamsville a full sound, the Big Band could get involved, a la Gloria - with the saxes, or even a full band arrangement (think Sleepwalk.)
I realize the Brian's vocal range may have dropped a bit in the 8 years since the song was recorded, but if the harmony singers are used properly, the song will sound great!
The casual Setzer fan, who only worships at the BSO altar at Christmas, needs to be indoctrinated into the ways of the Ignition album. Given the sentimentality of the season, Dreamsville might be the perfect gateway drug.
Shoop Shoo Wahhhh (C'mon! Everybody's doin' it!)

| Jon,
I completely agree that the BSO "jumped the shark" when it added the Vixens. (It's not too late to put out a kickass album to change my mind, however.) They add to a few numbers, they're fun to look at, but I think sometimes they are forced into some of the arrangements. However, they are not going anywhere, and they are talented, so we might as well put 'em to use.

| Hey Rick, yeh, of course they fit in some songs and I agree with you that sometimes they might be forced to sing on some tunes; otherwise it would be pointless to pay them just to do the backing vocals on 2-3 tracks.... but when Brian needed some backings, the BSO members used to do that task (and much better for me) |

| By the way, I'm not saying the Vixens caused the BSO to "Jump the Shark," it's just the timing of their arrival coincided with the Christmas tours, no BSO album for 7 years, etc.
On the backing vocals where harmonies are required, I think they do quite well. On the ones where the band is supposed to shout back, I miss the band. I also think the guys ought to yell out on "Sexy and 17." I do love the Vixens harmonies on "Let the Good Times Roll" - it recalls the Louis Jordan version much more so than the Ray Charles version. Of course, then I feel like I'm at a Manhattan Transfer show instead.
Still, I think the Vixens plus Spazz would bring down the house with a BSO arrangement of Dreamsville, which is the only reason they entered into the discussion on this thread in the first place.

| I'm always thinking about the BSO doing Bryan Adam's Hey Elvis. The version the BSO + Adams did in 1996 for the VH1 Duets was superb! |
