| Don't really know the meaning of the 8th of May but yeh, we, the Western culture are very lucky to be where we are nowadays,,, other countries/continents are not that well... |

This explains oh so much!  hrg Hey Slim Jon, fyi: Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day or VE Day) was proclaimed for May 8, 1945, the date when the World War II Allies formally accepted the unconditional surrender of the armed forces of Germany and the end of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. Most of our vets who've served in this war have passed on. Without their tireless service and selfless sacrifice, the world would be quite a different place today. Like your life, thank a vet! | |
