do you really need to be that way? Seriously.. hang tight while we hear back from the forum owner.. This whole thing seriously poses the question, do we let foreign language threads just go unmoderated when the English Threads are all carefully moderated so that
rules are kept and we can all remain friends?

If you want to chat in French, start an icq conference, open an irc channel or use a french board.
Our Spanish guys don't need it and neither do the germans.
I do not want to offend anyone although I guess it is most likely someone will find it offensive.
It is a board with english language and i guess it's best to stay that way...

They complain that we gave them too much work to translate our conversation? Oh poor people! Too much work to read what the French tell! It's that the complain? I am a teacher and journalist, Hub' is a historian, we certainly interresting conversation so that it irritates people so we do not understand!

the issue is that this is a universal forum and the common language is english. I am grateful for french setzer fans please dont misunderstand the intentions.

I discovered this site only about one month ago. Of course I started to talk in french with french fans because it was easy but I noticed that these fans Hub, frenchycat and lmp and the others, were also active members of english conversations, and very often, (no one can say the contrary, many of the members already spoke to them). The way everybody talked to eachothers about the concerts, the informations about setzer, the memories of meeting brian or not,...made me admirative of all these exchanges, above nationalities. I tried to enter some english spoken topic but as I am not a setzer specialist like you all, I started slowly with the tennis and the migraines (!) and had some very cordial talk in english with some of you on my pm, got interested in the artistic work of others. This ambassy is just a little corner we can have fun and also have very serious conversations about art, history, gastronomy, way of life! France is a small country and if we keep in touch on the web, we know there is a high probability we can meet on real easily; that's why it creates links between us and maybe others don't feel the same because of much longer distances between them. When someone talks to me in english, I always try to answer the same language, and even in spanish, and I will do the same in german and it seems to me the others did the same, didn't they? Don't be afraid, we are always happy to share our knowledge and curiosity in every cultural aspects. Between two conversations about setzer's carrier, come on Germans, let's talk about the Bauhaus, your life since the reunification, the scarves of the war; Spanish, let's talk about gaudi, Juan carlos, franquism, Almodovar; americans, let's talk about Frank Lloyd Wright, Steve Mac Queen, the 30's houses of miami, the deauville festival! There are so many subjects we can connect in "off topic", don't be afraid if sometimes we are franco-french. Anyway, all this is quite a shame and I know how it is going to end and it is really no worth it. And I think I'm bored...

And what is the reason: just because some frenchies used to chat in french, in a english language forum! What a crime, my friend!!
But, maybe these frenchies used to insult this or that fan over here... Sorry guys, if I wanted to do such stupid thing, believe me I (we) would do it in english.

I (we) post here since a couple of years. I "knew" nobody and the only reason of posting is my love for Stray Cats (and Brian, of course). I met some guys that seem to be nice to me. These are americans, english, spanishs and we had a lot of talk together. But I "met" french fans too, and naturally we tried to know each of us. And you think we're wasting our time in being injurious with all of you? I'm believing now that way of thinking is injurious for us.

You can take a look at our profile and you'll see we post everywhere when the subject has some interest for us. But you can understand I (we) may have no interest for Chris Isaak, the Beatles, the grandparents thread, the "one good thing" and so on... this french embassy is finally the place where we can talk about everything in french. You have to remember that it's not so easy for us to write in english but we do it with pleasure when it's worth.

So, we'll keep on writing in french in a specific thread that shouldn't bother anybody. You'll choose between letting us quiet or banning the french team. Believe me, in this case, this forum won't be the same...

of HDVDL and the issue...the ISSUE.. is simple. A fan forum without moderation ends
up in chaos.
Since you want to be funny.. you were one of the members telling us that
we were not being fair in censuring personal attacks and gossip about Brian Setzer.
Both of these arent fair and more so when we cant even moderate those things in foreign language..

Again as the issue stands, its still not that big of a deal...just something to hammer out.

Yes and indeed the convo has been about the stray cats..but it is exclusionary because its
in French. The issue is not the content in general, its the language en francais
