| I hope to God that Brian is ok ,makes a speedy recovery and looks after himself. He's still a young man with many more years of life and great music to come. Bless you Buddy. | |

| I just called and spoke to a representative at Surfdog. I asked what the official word is on Brian - she said "we're all good to go." I said, "the tour is continuing as planned? Brian is okay?" She said yes.

| Facebook says: Brian was briefly hospitalized in Albuquerque, NM last night after a combination of dehydration, high altitude, and vertigo made him unable to continue his performance at the Isleta Casino after several songs. He has completely recovered and will perform tonight at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, AZ, and will continue with the remainder of the tour uninterrupted. | |

Maybe they should have said "We're good to boogie." All's well that ends well. hrg

| thinking out loud: where is the line between concerned fans wanting to wish well sentiments to their hero vs. stalkers who want to follow every move he makes and be part of the action? seriously. fans are kreepy suckers at times. For about 10 yrs I was going to every Violet Burning concert and preaching Mike Pritzel song writing genius with his Gretsch nashville, but even though I was front row and center fighting to be right up against the stage (got knocked out once by a 250 linebacker dude because I told him I'd f'k him up for gettin in front of me..something about physics kept me from winning that battle) I always felt I needed to respect a musicians space... until the day my band got to open for them, and I suddenly had the cajones to go hang out in their green room. Wish I'd done that years before because he was sooo damn cool, even to my kids. maybe thats why I've never met setzer cuz I dont want to be seen as a little bitch trying to slobber all over a guitar hero. ..but I was ready to send an FTD care package to the hospital for a second. ..just for a second in a misty moment. anyone a psychologist here? rickabilly? haha.. Budgie? | |

| I think you've mistaken me for someone who has a healthy insight on this, Tavo. I'd be more representative of one of the loonies you've so eloquently described.
We've got dozens, hundreds, possibly thousands of people walkin' that tightrope with us, TV! Just look at the avalanche of posts on Facebook, and the record number of people on this relatively obscure forum tracking this story. Hell, it even made the entertainment headlines on Yahoo and MSNBC for a few hours. It was a potentially scary story, and I think for a devoted fanbase, under these circumstances, this "following every move he makes" for the past 15 hours or so is probably normal, albeit nerve-wracking.
I do wish I would have found this thread about an hour from now, so the rollercoaster I've been on would have lasted 2 minutes rather than several hours (or all night for some of you). Friggin' interweb!
Someday, you'll get to meet the man. And there won't be nothing kreepy 'bout it either, brother. But we'll keep that FTD stuff just between us loonies!
BTW, I recently found a rockabilly cover of U2's Vertigo on iTunes. Perhaps he should work it into the trio set!

| The Brian better just zipper up his man-suit and get out there and rock it tonight!!! When he wacked me in the johnson with a baseball did I go to the hospital?? Did I stop playing??? No!! I picked myself up, dusted myself off and kept going!!! There's no crying in baseball!!!
Seriously, glad to hear he's doing OK!!
"Budgie, when am I gonna see you again?" "I dunno!!"
Don't scare us like that...

I think an easy way to tell the difference is this: the concerned fans wouldn't "stalk" their hero...at least not intentionally. And they'd feel odd if they even got close to crossing the "stalker line". The stalkers that follow his every move, well, I honestly don't think that they have a conscious about it and wouldn't think twice about their rude, imposing behavior. They'd think it was completely normal, and would expect their "hero" to go out of his way to meet every demand of theirs, completely disrespecting that person's right to a personal life/space. And I think that the stalker trying to get in on the action is more of the person who is in it for themselves, their glory, their recognition. It's not just about the admiration of their "hero". Make sense? I am not a stalker. hrg | |

| I think stalking generally implies putting the person in question or their family in some sort of danger or causing them to feel threatened. Expressing concern and seeking updates is neither stalking nor wanting to be part of the action - it's caring. We do the same for our own family members. As for for "following every move he makes," by that definition, recording 30 years worth of setlists, maintaining career timelines, keeping ticket stubs, posting tour videos and photos, or say, spending years trying to duplicate the performer's guitar tone qualifies one as a stalker. Sounds like nothing more than a deep appreciation for a lifetime of artistic accomplishment to me. | |

| ...and I think that's what I said, Jon. Everyone was wishing Brian well, and all you said was that you hoped no shows were canceled. Surely you can see the potential for misunderstandings. I was standing up for you before you were misinterpreted. It doesn't happen often, my friend. Enjoy it, and Feliz Navidad!

| First of all....I'm completely relieved to know Setzer is okee-dokee and doing well. Dehydration can knock the crap out of ya'! Water, water, water! So glad for all the fans out there that the show can go on! Woo hoo!! Second of all....although my opinion wasn't asked..I'll volunteer it (it's one of the benefits of being a woman). There's a HUGE difference between being a stalker and being "attentive." Just wanted to claify that! Muwahahaha!!!! No stalkers here! | |
