| That's probably the "farewell effect" but I feel like going to more & more early Stray Cats years. Actualy, I can't stop playin' Gonna Ball and all tracks sound so fresh & wild !Little Miss Prissy, Wicked Whisky, Crazy Mixed Up Kid...are often in every compil' I do... But I realize I "forgot" songs like Cryin' Shame or Rev It Up & Go. The whole album is really fan-tas-tic !!!I can't resist to give a link of the Gonna Tour in february 1982 in France...http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=rR9m95PDK58 | |

| You know it, Hub, I also love that album and it's funny because it's just what I'm listening when I drive. And what about "you don't believe me"? Great song! Thanks for the link: Rev it up & go (and not Rip it up) is one of my favorite Stray Cats song, really. I couldn't buy "Rumble in Brixton" in Europe just because this title is missing (it's a bonus track for the japanese release).

| I love Gonna Ball just like you guys ( and I'm sure like most people in the lounge ) but I've read a few times that when the album was released people just didn't dig it as much as the first album, mainly complaining that it had more of a 'blues influence' and less of a 'rockabilly' feel. Strange because I think Gonna Ball shows a maturity in the band as players, songwriters and overall performers. The album has an amazing cover too Cheers PP | |

| Two things are so true: 1. Gonna Ball is a great album 2. Music journalists and rock critics were, most of them, stupid and "nuls Ć chier" (sorry for this french sentence, I couldn't translate my thought!)

| I fear that the show is the same the last. no risk-taking, they plays again & again the same classic hits. There is such a potential rare songs (superior at hits) to make the most wild show for ever. Will they take the risk ? I hope. | |

| I just made this rather rockin' playlist from the collection of Euro Tour CDs from 2004, and tried to pick out as many unique songs as I could beyond what was on Rumble In Brixton, and I came up with the following:
That's All Right (Included on Brixton) Good Rockin' Tonight (Included on Brixton) My Baby Left Me (Included on Brixton) Twenty Flight Rock (Included on Brixton) Sweet Love On My Mind Unchained Melody (in French) Race With the Devil Drink That Bottle Down Brand New Cadillac Hound Dog Baby Let's Play House Mystery Train Blue Moon of Kentucky Summertime Blues Somethin' Else Red Hot Rock Therapy High School Confidential MalagueƱa Baby Blue Eyes Oh Boy I Fought the Law
Granted, these weren't all at one show, and they're not all that risky, but they did mix it up last time they were in Europe. Not so much, of course, on the 9-song opening act business in the US last year. I wouldn't expect much of anything that is mind -blowingly different if you have a lot of bootlegs in your collection. But in terms of getting to hear 2-3 songs you have never experienced in person at a Stray Cats show, I'd say there's a good chance. Unless you've been lucky enough to see 25-30 Cats shows in your lifetime. If that's the case, then that should be its own reward.
What a thrill it would be if they dusted off some of the rarely performed album tracks like Crazy Mixed Up Kid or How Long You Gonna Live Anyway?

| I'd like them taking this risk : play rare / wild tracks for the first and the last time : from Crawl Up & Die, Wicked Whisky, Crazy Mixed Up Kid, Little Miss Prissy or How Long You Wanna Live Anyway to Rockabilly World, Can't Go Back To Memphis, Tight Black Leather or Jade Idol... There is here so much better things to do than singing Bring It Back Again (without the "right" lyrics and without any guitar solo !)... | |

| Funny you should mention the lyrics on Bring It Back Again. Lee sang it on the last Stray Cats US tour, since he regularly incorporates it into his solo shows, and was more comfortable with the words. I'd be OK if they skipped that one. I'm a little tired of Lee's line "This next tune is the ONLY Stray Cats recording without a guitar solo. It's also one of my favorites."

| Maybe. The thing I enjoyed about writing the reviews was being able to offer up my thoughts when the album was just released and reading everyone else's first impressions as well. That excitement fades a bit after the album's been out a while, and I'm sure my thoughts would be influenced by the other reviews I've read over the years.
I'm not sure what I was writing was a review so much as a description of what I was hearing, and some people aren't too keen on reading it because: 1) They're busy, lazy, or busy being lazy; or 2) Too much is given away with such a detailed review - there's no surprises left.
Since "busy being lazy" is probably what I do best, I could probably cut and paste some of the drafts I wrote and open up discussion threads on that particular album. She we're all old friends here, I would hope we could discuss 13, for example without re-hashing Really Rockabilly 1,000 times.
And now back to our regularly schedule topic: Yes, more Gonna Ball tracks besides Baby Blue Eyes and Rev It Up and Go on this tour - and record it, please!

| always being a little different, I gauge most music by how fast it makes me want to drive (mph). Of course after driving hard all day I may need a rest and thus songs like Sleep Walk rate highly on the "Z" meter ZZZZZ...ok maybe I should quit on that note...
