Some great guitar porn there! What it lacks though is context.. TM would be able to give us that if he were... well nevermind...

Trust me on this......it's got nothing to do with me (other than the photos, which I took 95% of). Gotta say that the new site looks great. Much better than anything I ever did. Seriously. Fantastic job.

It's kind of torturous to see all of those sweet custom finished Gretsches and realizing that I will never have one...the silver sparkle hotrod....helllooooo nurse!

I remember, that soon after Brian had his Custom pinstriped black Hotrod, there was one on ebay looking nearly the same. Wonder 1) why, 2) who bought it, 3) maybe it was the same, and / or just an ebay fake.

The tour was in 2001. He played Oslo on Oct 14th - greatest gig I've ever seen!

Supertrons by tvjones.. dual steel blades instead of pole pieces over the alnico bar magnet. Big fat and warm..makes the blonde bassman bark with more low mids wallop... but in a vintage Gibson way.

I still have to figure out the difference between the Powertrons i am now really happy with and the Supertrons. Checked TVJ Website, but, i can hear the diff between the Classics and the Powertrons, but not Super vs Powertrons.

Powertrons have more punch and attack that the classics but still 100% that familiar gretsch sound. Because of the steel blades the sound has a shift in the EQ towards the lower mids than the upper mids.
I had a trestlebraced hotrod and it seems so scooped compared to the older tonepost 99 SSU I have. So in trying to get that low mids growl back I got a set of Supertrons since setzer has em in his hotrod.. 'cept his hotrod is tonepost..aha! so I ended up with a magnatron in the neck with the super in the bridge.
