Hi all.

Just found this video that I've never seen before of Stray Cat's with a ton of great guitar players sharing th stage doing Blue Suede Shoes. When and where was this done?

Pony Boy-

I'm pretty sure this was the very first public appearance by the Stray Cats after they re-grouped in 1988. Scatman - can you confirm?

From The Brian Setzer Setlist Archive:

Stray Cats
August 18, 1988
Brooklyn Academy Of Music ~ Majestic Theatre
Brooklyn, New York, USA

Blue Suede Shoes

Notes: Filmed for the Cinemax cable-television special: "Les Paul: He Changed The Music." With guests Les Paul, Eddie Van Halen, BB King, David Gilmour, Steve Miller, Waylon Jennings, Stanley Jordan and others.

It's from a show recorded in 1988 called 'Les Paul, He Changed The Music'. A tribute to Les Paul.

I used to have it on Video Tape, I think it's available on DVD, well worth searching for!

Correct, RMC!

As far as I know, the previous public appearance was in December 1986
at the Whiskey on Sunset Strip for a benefit show.

3 weeks after the Les Paul Tribute the Cats started their 1988 US Tour....

yeah that's a great video.
I love the part when Eddie van Halen joins in. I'm not a Van Halen fan at all, but just the dive bomber sounds into rockabilly....very great!
