| Yep, was longer the first time.
I asked if you`re sure this video is of 2002 (because of Spazz, i was thinking at this time Mark W. played the bass) Your response was, Mark didn`t want to go on tour so much. So Mr. Spazz played the bass. (what he do very well, btw)
Anyway, the video is great and now on my myspace-appearance.
What a guitar sound...
Nice day

i wouldn`t swear, but i think this is the amp and no flooreffect. Bassman Volumen wide open and just a cable and a gretsch (and the Roalnd for sure)

| I think it's probably just the amp too. | |

| The Roland echo adds a little bit of gain. | |

when the bridge filtertron is pushing along with the Re-301s very punchy boost to the blonde bassman the tubes start clipping really nicely when hit with a big mids attack. I mean the amp alone with the gretsch will start clipping sweetly in the upper mids when volume goes up past 4 oclock and the treble is past 5-6 oclock and presence is at 9 oclock... the gain boost of that particular space echo is substantial with a flick of its input gain setting ontop of the amp and guitar. A very unique light overdrive or clipping that keeps the Bass fat and articulate and the highs jangling. the worlds greatest guitar rig IMO! from the imagineering of good ol' Sensei Setzer. ps. for those of us that either cant afford the RE-301 or lug one around and keep it in proper tech. you can get the same Boost effect with the paul cochrane TIM boost pedal. I value mine just as much as my SSU.

B man..we should probably move this to the Cave, its guitar talk I dont know if all the threads on the TIM pedal are gone since the sites been rebuilt but you should be able to read some stuff from a few cats on this board I've given the sickness to. paul cochrane from nashville tennessee started building these boxes a few yrs back for nashville session players. They are unusual boost pedals in that they possess the ability to be a totally transparent clean boost to quite an amazing light overdrive/EQ boost. I found that the RE-301 space echo is very much unlike its predacessors (re101,150,201 as they were "class A discreet" circuits and the 301 began using only Class A, the "discrete" was thrown out the door with its circuit change utilizing Op-Amp. This ended up putting more gain on tap in its preamp and gave its EQ section more headroom... this is my conjecture based on my own obsession with the many space echos I've owned and had rebuilt and wasted countless hours studying the schematics (pretending I get it all)... I at one point was going to hire an amp builder to design a pedal for production that was only the RE301s preamp and EQ..but then the TIM pedal came into my possession and it ended up being able to pull the same stunt that the 301s preamp did to couple the gretsch filtertrons and maple tone to the unique tone stack of the fender blond bassman 6G6-B circuit(btw..when you pop the compression knob and plug in a strat, it becomes a Klon pedal killer..totally versatile tone box). here 's a long-ish explaination by the Tim pedals maker: The bass control is pre distortion. Most pedals roll off the low end before you distort the signal to keep things tight and clear. A lot of low end distortion can get real muddy real quick. But what that means is you don't have the low end there when you need it for cleaner settings. The bass control will allow you to keep all the low end for the cleaner sounds, and dial it out for the good crunchy stuff.
The treble control is post distortion. Like the bass circuit most pedals will have a preset hi end roll off to keep the pedal from being fizzy and noisy when distorting, but you'll lose the hi frequencies for the cleaner settings. So for cleaner settings you might have the treble on zero (7 o'clock) for all the highs, and as you turn up the distortion you would roll back the treble to keep things smooth. Being able to control the pre and post EQ gives you the ability to kill the evil mid bump a lot of pedals have preset into them.
The boost mode is a strange little gain/volume boost circuit. It's not meant to be a two tone on the fly type of circuit. It's more about if the gain cranked isn't enough you'd kick this on. The drive control on the back of the pedal changes the gain of the clipping circuit. The tone control effects the low end of this gain circuit at high boost levels.here it is on my boards (pedal board on the left is for my rockabilly trio)
