So, I want to play this song with my band since my singer is really good at singing dirty similar to nick curran or JC McPherson, but I have some difficulties figuring out the beginning of the guitar solo. I've got it figured out when he starts playing those cochranesque licks in G and then D and the rest but can't seem to find the right chord slides for the beginning. Can you guys help me?

Hi,

Thats a cool song and a nice example of a solo following the chord changes - and sounding all the more melodic for it Cool

The fist part of the solo is sliding double stops all from the D Major scale on the the high E and B strings - slide into the D note on the high E string and the G note on the B string from two frets below - slide back to your starting point and repeat then follow the harmonzied D major scale down so you finish on the top two notes of the open D chord.

The next part of the solo is as you say Cochranesque stuff in G and then in D (again following the chords as they change) - he then does an A Major run and bend (over the A chord) and finishes with some stabs of the D chord.

I hope this helps and let me know if you need any more explanation.

cheers
