Fret Wear

I couldnt find anything by searching on this forum but i know its out there. Ive been doin some maintainance on my SSLVO and Maton BG808 and Ive noticed some significant fretwear, especially on the Maton (big ol groove under the second string up until say the 8th fret. I was wondering When the suggested time to replace frets is (i know its still probly not my time but im thinking ahead) or to even sand them (ive heard you can do that too i guess). As you can prabably tell i know nothing on that subject.

P.S. I always forget what type of fretwire Setz uses.

most frets with meat on em can just be redressed (like an american strat or tele)
instead of replaced.
My SSU unfortunately has tiny ass stock frets and a $300 fretjob is in order.
I'm gonna do the setzer thing with the 6105 stainless steel fret wire!

I believe I believe! how much wear should you have on 'em till a job is due? In first position i can kind of feel the wear. probly not enough to replace them yet though. Just a good thing for me to know I thought. What brand of fret?
