1962 Holden EK Ute

My partner and I recently purchased our first vintage car!! It's a 1962 Holden EK Ute (Utility).. It's in pretty nice shape, further down the track we plan to give her a respray and make her a mild custom. She's already been lowered but other than that she's pretty stock (original)... The ute is great for carting around our beach cruiser bikes, and the ute is a little rarer than the sedan version so we're usually the only EK Ute at a show.. We've named her 'She's Apples' after the Boston Bomber that my partners great Uncle flew in the war.. this bomber had something like a 98% success rate, and out of all the Boston Bombers that fought in the war 'She's Apples' was one of only two that returned unscathed.. 'She's Apples' is also an Australian term much like 'She'll be right mate'.. It's like saying everything will be okay even when it looks like it's all going down hill.. Great car Kid! Enjoy it! My hubby and I had an old '56 Chevy Pickup years ago, until we needed the cash for other things (kids will do that to ya!). Vintage cars are so much fun, and a great way to get from point a to b. Love the picture of it near the barbed wire fence.

Well, we got the pinstriping and 'nose art' on the car - a friend called Neo Dutch did it for us.. the 'nose art' is so perfect it looks like a sticker! My partner and I reckon the pinstriping looks like an angry tiki owl Razz

Well, I've just gone and bought another EK holden but this time it's a 1961 wagon!! Always loved old wagons and now I have one!! Very Happy

The matt pink is actually growing on me as it's a bit different than your usual matt black paint job - but the wagon will eventually be re-painted in the future..

I've noticed it looks like the sky has been photoshopped to match the car but it hasnt been touched at all!
