a "keep it simple" version this is the redesigned single stomp
version and we still incorporated the "Stange" mode w/ a mini switch.
When Stang mode is employed most fender and vox style amps will quickly go into a crunchy twang with this preamp at low volumes and at rocking stage volume your gretsch will scream .Its definitely a texas psychobilly freakout.
In low gain settings this preamp based on the RE301 space echo preamp keeps your finger dynamics articulate and lets the amp hear your guitar and fingers with maximized articulation.

This is 100% a preamplifier in a pedal, not an overdrive
but will take your tube guitar
amp into clipping territory while never losing
one bit of your guitars original tone and dynamics, but
rather enhancing your finger tone.
*I use full size alpha pots, neutrik & switchcraft jacks, 22 gauge copper strand wiring,
sprague electrolytics,metal film & silver mica caps, xicon metal film resistors & Nos carbon comp resistors & a socketed burr brown hifi opamp in the Billy Brain.

I've decided to ditch my Line 6 M13 and go back to individual pedals, again!
So a Nocturne Pedal is top of my list, My main guitar is a Gretsch DSV with TV Jones T'Armond pickups.
Not sure whether to go for the Dyno Brain or the Billy Brain.
Is the Billy Brain the same as the Dyno Brain but with the added stang mode?

DynoBrain and BillyBrain are based on the RE301 space echo platform but they are very different
from eachother in gain and EQ.

Dynobrain for the Setzer thing and roots rock with gretsch guitars, vintage teles/strats etc.

then the Atomicbrain, which is a stage version as it has the second gain stomp(abby mode) on it for solo's.etc
Its normal channel is a dynobrain.

Billy Brain, has double (and triple w/ stang mode) the gain of the DynoBrain and has a brighter EQ color, along
with a different Burr Brown OPA chip than the vintage style chip in the others. This pedal is great for using on
master volume amp like a marshall or mesa where the amp is already got overdrive cooking ala pyschobilly or punk.
My favorite in its low gain settings for my vox and tele.
