Another clue: no vocal mics....
Still, I like the Blast Off-era. Thanks for sharing this, Tavo!

Wasn't Rock This Town recorded using a Vox Royal Guardsman?

If I am correct, the date is June 1989 at a French show called Sacre Soiree, that's the infos I have. I knew about this taping but never seen it before!! COOL!!!

its always fun to accidentally find stuff.. I ran into a vid of setzer with the full mullet rocking with Jeff "skunk" baxter.. I thought that was a weird pairing but still interesting.
btw.. on the gear thing, I knew this had to be after 85-85 and that amp rig does look like the showman reverb with the master volume/ Bandmaster verb...BUT the knobs look tiny and there are too many of them... in the same breath that head cab was made big by fender to enclose both large powertubes and the uber sized Ultralinear transformer ALONG with a full size reverb tank.. Either way..its totally off the beaten path of his usual fair (And yes the first album had a vox royal guardsman employed but setzer also talks of plugging straight into the board and turning up too)

The first thing that clues me in that this wasn't live was that his lip sync was a little off. Then the guitar chords without him paying. Either way, still cool.

ChimingBell, that has to be one of the weirdest Stray Cats videos I've ever seen - are they playing at Sea World or something?! What the hell was that camera operator thinking, playing in the bushes like that, and almost completely ignoring the crowd?!
Makes me wish the Cats had treated it like that other video that surfaced here a while back, where they were completely not playing their instruments properly or singing the lyrics correctly - anybody remember what I'm talking about? It was funny as hell, they obviously did NOT want to be lip syncing and did NOT care!! I'd love to see that again.
Anyway, thank you so much for finding that, what a great (and dated!) oddity!!

I remember the video, but I can't remember what song it was. Possibly a track from the "Gonna Ball"-album...? Something in the back of my mind tells me it was taken from a French TV show, but I could be wrong. Actually, I think I downloaded it. If I did, it's on my external hard drive. I'll look for it as soon as I have the time.

TV, when I first went in search of Setzer forums I ended up at the official site, I didn't learn about the HDVDL til the official forums went up in smoke in Paris. I know it seems like I've been around a lot longer than that.
Gretschoholic, you rawk, thanks!!

That's the one. So awesome, thank you for finding that. I would love to know the story behind that... not to mention what Setzer yelled at the camera there near the end. Any lip readers in the house??
