If I'm not mistaken, I believe "Wild" Bill Thompson was the Cats 2nd guitarist when they played in Europe... then Tommy Byrnes joined up back in the States.

If I recall correctly, your friend Tommy (not Byrnes) confirmed a long time ago that in fact Bill Thompson joined the Cats for only 1 or 2 shows in the states prior to the European tour in July 1984.

We do have evidence of Tommy Byrnes in europe, as French tv showed a short clip from the July 15th show at Festival D'Elixir in Brest/St.Pabo France, prominently featuring Setzer & Byrnes doing their fretwork.

Question for all:
Following their tour of the states in August/September 1984, I only have listed one live show in October: Kleinhan's Music Hall in Buffalo, NY, 10/31/84.
Does anybody here now of any other dates in October or possibly November 1984, before the Cats officially disbanded?

I wonder the same and for a minute I thought he wasn't in the band for the show.
In fact, i saw on a blog a Spanish bloke who claimed to have been at that show and I asked him for a 2nd guitarist.
He said there was no second guitar player.... but the evidence of T Byrnes being there is that you all can listen
to a second guitar on the show, which is taken from the vault of the Festival in Nyon back in 1984.

While searching for some other infos about this tour, I remember finding a few pics from other show, can't remember honestly which one, and Tommy Byrnes wasn't there, but maybe the photographer didn't took any of them simply because he didn't consider it as a part of the band, it's like when in 1982 the Cats had a saxophonist and a piano player for the European Leg in Feburary...

I'm almost certain that I've seen a picture once with a second guitarist, and that he looked a lot like the guy that was in Brian's band during the KFLJ-periode (from what I know now; Tommy Byrnes). I do NOT remember whether it was live on stage, a posed picture or whatever it was, neither when or where I saw it. Hmmm... now, this'll keep me awake for a coupla nights!

Well, at least it may very well be the same session, but somehow I think there was a guitar or two in the photo... I could be wrong, though.

This is the only one in my archive, and i found some others from other show in France 1984 but no trace of TB in the pics...

OK, I'm probably mixing it up with some Brian & Tommy live footage from the "Knife..." tour.
