| Birth of the Gypsybilly Vol. 2 As in their debut CD Birth of the Gypsybilly, The Vignatis continue to blend English and French vocals with Gypsy orchestration including acoustic guitar, clarinet, accordion, violin, swingin'- drivin'-rockin' drum beats wtih modern/vintage instrumentation of electric guitar and upright, slap bass, as used in Rockabilly. In addition, the Southern twang of honky tonk-esque piano and pedal steel season the overall sound. In Birth of the Gypsybilly Vol. 2, The Vignatis have taken their vision a 2nd step to solidify their creation improving the blend of chromatic Gypsy and Rockabilly harmonics, expanding guitar and clarinet sounds while integrating their voices more to including vocal duets. The writing is playful, lively and more aggressive, as are the performances, maintaining the fundamental elements from the debut CD such as layered orchestration and their signature stamp of “La Pompe Renversee,” yet still conveying messages and stories of life experience. Like two footprints, both CDs stand firmly in this new genre serving as a link in the chain of music history with more works to follow for the satisfaction of their fanbase.
