I know this message board is not the most busy with the creation in the population on Facebook however I'll be posting a full review after opening night tonight in Minneapolis.
Anyone else going to be there tonight with me? Look for me and Mrs. Kool in our Bob Eucker seats!

Welp, about 24 hours ago we were leaving the Orpheum from the concert, has been a long 2 days. Mrs. Kool is with her parents and siblings right now seeing Garth Brooks a few blocks from the Orpheum and I am at home with Little Miss Kool, Sweet Caroline enjoying a quiet evening in.
The opeing bsnd was called "The Record Company" from L.A. They were pretty good and fun. A rock and roll hipster trio playing all original songs and appeared to really enjoy what they were doing, I felt they were better than last years opening band.
Set List 11-14-2014
(Red/Purple looking Hot Rod) Dig that Crazy Santa Sleigh Ride This Cat's on a Hot Tin Roof (With Andy Griffith Theme guitar solo) The Dirty Boogie
(Green Sparkle Hot Rod) Boogie Woogie Santa Sexy + 17
(Orangeish Gretsch... Hot Rod? Hard to tell) Zat U Santa/The Grinch Joy To The World O Little Town of Bethlehem Stray Cat Strut - Pink Panther
(1959 Gretsch) Sleepwalk Angels We Have Heard on High Let's Shake (With entire BSO) Jump Jive Jingle Bell Rock (Trio + vixens) Ring of Fire ( Trio + vixens + trumpets) Nothin is a Sure Thing (Trio) Fishnet Stockings (trio) Rock this Town (Trio + BSO)
Nutcracker Suite In the Mood (For Christmas) Jingle Bells
Mrs. Kool and I arrived about 15 minutes before the Record Company went on and the crowd was slowly rolling in. We found our way to our seats, the exact same as last year in the front row. Between the Record Company and BSO, there seemed to be little waiting.
The Orchestra came out kicking ass from the start and it was a loud and thunderous welcome home to Brian and the gang. They didn't really take a break to say hello for a few songs and just played hard and loud and long! This Cat and Boogie Woogie each got several of the band members to give their solos and made for some fun and long jam sessions.
The music charts came out and I was expecting to hear Nutcracker, but they started to play a singing version of Joy to the World, boy was that FUN!!! I would really love to know who the composer was or if a comperable version is on itunes anywhere, which I will be searching for tonight. We were immediately treated to O Little Town of Bethlehem, which Brian debuted last year after the charts were sitting in Frank Comstock's garage for 70 years, both WONDERFUL moments to the concert.
Brian started to get the crowd clapping along for Let's Shake and I was very confused as to why the whole Orchestra was out there still, but they accompanied the song and IT WAS FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!! Wow, I love the song from the trio album, but the Orchestra added SO much more to the song, there was even a little breakdown in the middle and really just hyped it up, I really hope this will get recorded for an album or a live recording so we can hear it again!
The trumpeters came out and I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the crowd gave a very rousing welcome to hear Ring of Fire, everyone sang along. Brian introduced another new one from the trio album, Nothing is a Sure Thing, and boy oh boy, that album just kicks a lot of ass, and they carried it over to the concert.
I felt the crowd reaction during a fishnet stockings was a little tame and a little quiet. When rock this town was played people got up out of their seats and seem to enjoy themselves little more. Nutcracker Suite was played perfectly and then people still sat in their seats for the last two songs and enjoyed the end of the concert.
A quiet crowd but a fun night. Great music with my wife and enjoyable evening once again with the Brian Setzer Orchestra.

I heard he is doing another Johnny Cash tune besides Ring of Fire on this tour. Anybody have info on which one?

So far it has just been Ring Of Fire. However, Setzer has done Folsom Prison Blues during the Rockabilly Riot Tour in 2011-12, and very occasionally in 2003-04
I got the set list from Kitchener this past Saturday and it was still Ring Of Fire.
Setzer is not a person who would change the set list... rather the contrary.

By the way, what happened to the pomp? It's morphed into "Hermey the elf".
