| Happy Thanksgiving, and God's blessings to you all! I'm very thankful for the friends I've met here! Rock on, Bear85 PS: Special thanks to Rick for the YouTube clip - one of the funniest moments in TV history. I'm still wiping away the tears of laughter. Here's me returning the favor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__8fQh04tjoIt has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but it's the only TV scene I can think of that made me laugh as hard as the WKRP clip. Enjoy! | |

| Happy Thanksgiving, all! And safe travels for anyone out & about this weekend! I will be busy tomorrow morning baking pies (my contribution to our family's feast). I had to track down my grandma's homemade pie crust recipe today, to make sure the pumpkin pie is completely authentic! Yum yum! If you ever need a recipe for Jack Daniel's Pecan pie I can probably hook you up! If memory serves, you'll probably want to cut down on the Jack...or make sure no one under 21 has any of this pie! But it sure was fun to make!! Many things to be thankful for, including friends & family! | |

It has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but it's the only TV scene I can think of that made me laugh as hard as the WKRP clip. Enjoy! Lenny and the Squigtones!!! Man, I LOVE that album! I can't quite tell from the clip, but is that Christopher Guest turning pages? He played on the album, under a pseudonym he would later use in the film This Is Spinal Tap - Nigel Tufnel. | It's an American holiday held the 4th Thursday in November. I believe it was first declared a national holiday by Abraham Lincoln. The intention was to set aside a day to give thanks to God for the blessings that He bestowed during the year. Unfortunately, like many other holidays in America, many people try to squeeze God out of the picture. The way our media portrays Thanksgiving pretty much centers on overeating! The traditional meal is turkey, with stuffing, cranberries, potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc.
The tradition started before it national holiday. The first Thanksgiving feast was reputed to have been held by the Pilgrims who survived the first year in the New World. I've read articles that dispute this; I wasn't there, though! I like the story of the Pilgrims joining with the Native Americans to give thanks, so I go with it! | |

| okay well my turkey was really good was really moist for being cooked in the ground with that banana leaf BUT.... the pumpkin pie wasn't too good! I got the kind that you bake, and when I took it out, I notice that it looked kind of funny, like dark and cracked in the middle so dumb me put it in the oven and halfway through there was no typical 'pumpkin pie' smell at all, like it wasn't fresh, so I decided to take a look at the expiration date and it said Jan. 20th of this year!!! ahhhh so I went to the store and got one from the supermarket bakery good thing I decided to check the exp. date!!!

| Kelley-- The "expiration date" lesson is always a rotten one to learn! (no pun intended) My friend's call me the Queen of Expiration Dates as I'm meticulous about checking dates at the store! The day milk expires? It goes down the drain if there's any left. I don't mess with expiration dates!!! Had you been in my neighborhood, or even on the same island, I would have whipped up another homemade pumpkin pie for your family! Mine got great reviews, including my homemade pie crust. I thought I could've done better, but I guess I'll just have to keep practicing making homemade pie!! Mmmm.... Your turkey sounded mouthwatering! | |
