The Power of Hawaii-not!!

Last night the most bizarre thing happened, the WHOLE island went completely black!! I was on my way to pick up my parents at the movies, was JUST about to go into my elevator (I live on the 16th floor) but luckily I decided not to because the lights kept on flickering and there was some intense lighting too (no thunder, doggone it, I love that! ) but anyway, yep, I had to walk all the 16 flights of steps down and found out that this older woman was stuck in our elevator but couldn't find our building manager but she got out after about two hours, poor thing!

but yes, there were no cops directing traffic at all or nothing, you were on your own with the traffic, that radion stations were out too the first hour, we don't even have our paper yet!

Surreal! Although I'm sure that it was an inconvenience for many, it could've been a very peaceful time.
