I'd been holding out hope for all of you for a US leg of the farewell tour in '09- the "only US appearance in 2009" thing seems to be pretty final though. Let's hope that just means "for now."

Hold up, now. The Stray Cats have NEVER said anything about a "farewell" to the US - ever. The farewell was just for Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. They'll likely pop up every now and again stateside, and probably in your backyard, given Jim and Lee's mailing address.

If you're nice, maybe we'll find you a newspaper ad you can mass-reproduce and sell on eBay.

Last time BSO "stopped by" in Europe... it was cancelled back in 1999, almost ten years... and you got them touring almost every year.

I notice the ad reads "featuring Stray Cats." I wonder what other surprises will be in store at this one-of-a-kind show. The Return of the Radiation Ranch? The Reternie of Bernie? Dave Edmunds? A Paine Brother or two? Perhaps a banjo sighting?

I always thought a career-spanning Setzer show would be awesome. Now I realize it would be hard for the BSO to be a part of that, hanging around for just a couple of tunes. But what about a song or two from the Knife era? A Live Nude Guitars tune, perhaps. Throw some keyboards into the mix for a rockabilly riot. I have a feeling this one will be special - more than just a Stray Cats show (as if that wouldn't be cool enough by itself.)

It may be a show open to the public, but it is Brian's birthday party. I'll be interested to see what Brian chooses to perform that night, and how many of you are able to make the journey to the Mini-Apple.

The main thing for everyone to remember is the tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY!!!!

I will be heading to the Fine Line this Friday after a meeting in the morning to get my tickets ASAP.

Rumors are they will be on ticketmaster as well, friday at 11am.

Should be a great show. Been looking for something like this since the Lee's Liquor Lounge show in 2006.

You know thatz my biggiest issue, getting GOOD tickets since I'll be making the trip from Northern Michigan. Any ideas what will be the best way to assure getting tickets at least in the first ten rows? I was going to start calling Ticket Master 10-15 minutes priar to 11 am. Also Minnesota is an hour behind Michigan time so do tix go on sale Minnesota time?
