I think all us three are right pretty much, there is no one term for it, you can say it however you like

all I know is that I love it! (the rockin' music that is, lol) cheers

as a general rule, the ` takes the pnace of a letter.

so Rock and Roll becomes Rock `n` Roll

with the ` taking place of the a and the d
