Dave Edmunds is really an unsung hero.
His first records with 'Love Sculpture' are truely amazing blues.
Check out 'Blues Helping' or 'Forms and Feelings'.
His early solo works include original numbers as well as live recordings of Chick Berry etc (i think Dave said Chuck was his favourite rocker).
Great work followed with Nick Lowe and 'Rockpile'.
And for me this was more than just 'Seconds of Pleasure'
My favourite solo Edmunds is 'Twangin' (1980) Stray Cats appear on the song
'The Race is On'.
And that's how i first learned of Dave Edmunds.....i bought 'The Race is On' on
single and heard the B side 'Gonna start living again if it kills me'....
Liked both sides so i bought Dave's Twangin' Album!
Obviously i'd heard of the song 'Singin' the blues' and 'Dynamite' and i was now a Dave Edmunds fan.
DE7 was next - I heard 'Warmed over kisses' on the radio, and ran down the stret to find the record!
'Information' was my next album. This time without hearing anything off it.
And now over the years i've been lucky enough to own a lot of the Edmunds.
AND just like other greats - he has a song for every mood.
