yes we are talking about the September 6 show, still being offered at 2 for 1 on lawn tickets.
Things aren't looking good for my attendance. I have several other commitments on that weekend.
As for coming in from a long distance, it really depends on how big a fan you are. It is likely that Brian and the Nashvillains will probably have a shorter set than Chris Isaak, my guess is between 40 and 60 minutes. It depends on whether Brian is considered an opening act or a co-headliner. The fact that Chris Isaak is from nearby Stockton suggests the former, but there are no guarantees.
If you are including this as part of a larger visit to California and Nevada, there is no shortage of cool things to do in the general vicinity. Yosemite National Park is about two or three hours from Murphys. Lake Tahoe is about two or three hours. San Francisco is about three hours. The closest major airport is Sacramento, again about two hours away. Other than frequency of flights, Sacramento is a much more user-friendly airport than any of the other Northern California airports. Las Vegas is probably about 10 or 12 hours from Murphys. Los Angeles is about eight hours from Murphys. In the immediate vicinity, there are lots of opportunities for wine tasting, gold panning, and fishing. There are also cavern tours, some of which offer gem hunting opportunities. Additionally, there is the Calaveras Big Trees State Park. The entire Sierra foothills has a cool small town rustic vibe.
Happy travels,
T
