| This past weekend near my hometown, was the Annual Frog Follies Street Rod Show ( a massive 3-day event in Evansville, Indiana). It's one of the biggest such events in the States and all proceeds go toward local charities and scholarships. The display cars (4000 street rods a year on average) have to all be pre-49 (though I did notice some post-49 in the swap meet area this year). There's always tons of beautiful chrome and steel, from mint or near mint to rust-bucket jalopies and rat rods. I shot a bunch of pics this year so I thought some of ya'll might dig a look. Here's my Flickr address with a couple of different sets: http://www.flickr.com/photos/87951343@N00/sets/It's a GREAT event for enthusiasts of all degrees and ages, with a $5 per person entry fee for spectators and thousands of fantastic, friendly, like-minded folks. Easily my favorite such event I've ever been to. If you can make it some year, you won't be sorry. Here's the web link for the organization that puts it on. They do good work. If you can make only one trip to the midwest next year, think about coming down for the Frog Follies. http://www.frogfollies.org/ | |
