Havent had the echo but I've owned the Rotosphere from their series, but I'm not so impressed with it having a tube.. Most pedals out there utilizing a tube are not employing it
the same way you've seen in vintage effects where the tube was receiving max
plate voltages for gain. In effects like these the tube is used for enhancing the
tone and often it is a "starved plate voltage" to create texture and harmonics. Not so
much a gimic but not really an integral part of the mechanism IMO.
Having said that the H&K stuff is great and the rotosphere is impressive so I
bet that delay unit is just as tasty. I think a team of scientist build H&K
products.
