Hey,
not long ago, we've been discussing about the economical viability of the BSO playing in Europe and we've also compared it with the Japanese tours that the BSO has made up to date.
I've searched the capacity of the Japanese venues the BSO has played to the possible venues in Europe, and that's what I've found:
City + Venue / Capacity:
Tokyo - Shibuya Kokaido: 2250
Tokyo - Lemon Hall: 2000
Tokyo - Zepp: 2700
Yokohama - Pacifico: 4000
Yokohama - Kanagawa Kemnin Hall: 2300
Sendai - Zepp: 1600
Nagoya - Shi Kokaido: 1900
Nagoya - Aichi Geijustu Gejiko: 2300
Osaka - Nanba Hatch: 1500
Osaka - Kosei Nenkin Hall: 2300
Hiroshima - Kosei Nenkin Hall: 1900
Hiroshima - Aster Plaza: 1100
Kanazawa - Kosei Nenkin Hall: 1600
Fukuoka - Shimin Kaikan: 1600
And here are the data of some venues in Europe:
Helsinki, FIN - House Of Culture: 1800
Helsinki, FIN - Ice Hall: 6500
Stockholm, SWE - Berns: 1100
Oslo, NOR - Rockefeller: 1300
Copenhagen, DEN - Amager Bio: 1100
Stuttgart, GER - Theaterhaus: 1000
Hamburg, GER - Grosse Freiheit: 1500
Cologne, GER - E-Werk: 2000
Munich, GER - Muffathalle: 1400
Zurich, SWITZ - Volkshaus: 1700
Paris, FRA - Olympia: 1900
Tilburg, HOL - 013: 2000
Amsterdam, HOL - Paradiso: 1500
Amsterdam, HOL - Heineken Music Hall: 5500
Brussels, BEL - Ancienne Belgique: 1800
Glasgow, SCO - Academy: 2500
Manchester, ENG - Academy: 2000
Dublin, IRE - Vicar Street: 1400
Barakaldo, SPA - Rockstar Live: 2000
Madrid, SPA - La Riviera: 2500
I have just written the name of two bigger venues (Ice Hall & HMH) since in those two countries the BSO is more likely to sould out those venues... however, other possible places like those are also possible in Paris, London, Madrid, etc.
If the ticket sellings were more or less alright, the BSO should come over to tour Europe, don't you think???
