You're makin' my eyes leak, Tavo. You're like the big brother I never had! Thank you.
What's the saying? Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans?
This is crushing to me for many more reasons than just not seeing my first BSO Christmas Extravaganza. There's the fact that I can't give Mom her Christmas present, the Vegas trip. (But on that note, if there are any smart, handsome, successful men in their late 50's/early 60's out there that would be interested in taking a my place and showing a cute, petite blonde Mom a great time in Sin City, PM me! I'm sure that'd make a much better Christmas present for Mom than going to the show with me! Haha!! )
Then there's the camaraderie that I'll miss: The Aussie Tour was a bonding experience like no other for me with Pete, Sam and Pony, and with Kid. Those are memories I'll never forget. One of the hardest parts of all this is knowing I won't get to have that bonding and the excitement of "the Setzmas season" with some wonderful people from this shore - Tavo - you and your tribe, my old friend Ross, my girl Jan, and new friends I haven't yet been able to meet like Scatman.
Last but not least, the man himself. What I wouldn't give to be able to give Brian a congratulatory hug for the Grammy nomination, given that was my biggest hope for this album that means so dang much to me.
Pardon my overwrought sentimentality. The HDVDL brings it out of me. You people are gold! I'm thankful I've got this place and all of you, and of course the music that started it all for me. The iPod is definitely gettin' a workout this week!
Love to you all. More than you know.

I wish you all the best. After the canceled show in Dublin I know it is frustrating to miss a Setzer gig but it is always another tour. Keep the spirit up!

We love you too Andi. Maybe Brian can give you a visit and give you the hug, now wouldn't that be a special gift!!!!!

Andiiiiiii Babiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What you gone and done?!?!?!?!
Don't worry, all will be well. Life doesn't always go as planed, but who cares? Get well, get strong and THEN get rockin' harder than before! Us Aussies are always thinking and talking about the great times we had in Melbourne when we met Brian and probably more importantely each other. Those are some of the most memorable of my life. How can I ever forget my LOUD AMERICAN sister?? LOL!!
One day we'll be drinking and laughing together again!! Karma Andi!
Tomorrow I'll dedicate Rock This Town for ya @ Uraidla Hot Rod Show. Take care and hear from you soon, Your Aussie Brother Pete

Somehow I missed all of this too. This just sucks.
Andi, I'm so glad you are on the mend. It is painful to know what you've gone through, but thankfully it's in the past and you are getting better.
Knowing how much the shows mean to you I am really sorry that you'll have to miss them this time. Somehow, I have a feeling you'll make up for it next year.

Thank you Pete, RMC, Vinnie and JC - and everyone. I've gotten some really wonderful messages, and they honestly do help a lot.
Yesterday was a pretty good day, it looked like they might even send me home today. Today has been a different story. Right after breakfast I actually ended up with the exact same sternum pain that put me here in the first place, only worse. Aargh!!! Luckily hard drugs manage it nicely while they try to figure out what's going on...
So, in the hospital for at least for another day. In pain, frustrated, a bit scared, tired of all this, desperately needing a shower!
But, Good Things:
Tulips from Dad Cherry Ice Strawberry Jello New John Mayer release "Battle Studies" Springsteen stuff from a good friend iPod full of good stuff Not worrying about work Internet Being a tiny bit more mobile every day Mom You
(BTW for anyone who doesn't follow the One Good Thing thread, the surgery was emergency removal of my gallbladder. I'm told it was 5x normal size and full of gallstones. Fun!)

reminds me of a an old song... "There's a saying: Your home is where your heart is My heart believes it's true And my home's so far away
But the seasons and the scenery keep changing So I'll make my home with you 'Til I'm finally home to stay
When I think of home When I'm tired and feeling homeless I come to you You're where my heart is
There are places on this journey I'll remember Many faces are so dear They can always bring a smile
But no matter where I am or where I'm going In my heart you're always near You have made my life worthwhile
When I think of home When I'm tired and feeling homeless I come to you You're where my heart is
There's a saying: "Your home is where your heart is" My heart believes it's true"

Welcome home, mess!
At least your cd's and dvd's are within reach now. Not to mention that blue thingy you got not long ago.

Ooh hey! Thanks for the reminder! I still haven't watched the special features from the Setzer Christmas DVD yet! Must add that to my to do list for the week - I have some very important nothings to get done.
As for that blue thingy, it'll be a week or so before they'll let me hold anything that heavy (yeah, I'm that much of a wuss right now) but just having it nearby - along with the orange thingy that still calls my house home - is quite a comfort.

Thanks Kid. Taking it one staple at a time, as Scatman said to me earlier today
I've decided I won't cancel my hotel reservations just yet - I can always hope for a miracle. I've got 10 days to focus on willing myself healed enough to be at the Gibson Amphitheatre on the 18th and 19th! I'll also ask my doctor what he thinks when I see him Monday...

Andi,
I haven't been on much either, and am catching up on the news, when I came across this thread. Very sorry to hear about your troubles, but I want to wish you a speedy recovery and a good holiday season and a better next year. You help to make this site as great as it is. I enjoyed reading all the reviews you dug up about the new album (I personally find it hilarious when the reporters write about these new albums and start mixing up song names, throwing around gtr. terms like "diminished chords", and all of the other things that they know nothing about).
Anyway, take care, feel better, and get well soon.
Merry Christmas to ye.
Capt. Jones

Jonesy!! So pleased to see you back 'round these parts!! Merry Christmas to you as well, and thank you so much for the kind words. I am so thrilled that the doctor said I was well enough to go see the BSO shows - as I said elsewhere, they went a long way towards my recovery: even though I just had open gall bladder surgery 18 days ago, I still look like I was in a car wreck, and in the past two days I stood on my feet for many, many hours more than I should've.... I feel like a million bucks. Music heals.
