Thats "Tegernseer Hell", meaning that it's lighter than the strong "Starkbier" that was the original form of beer. But still not nearly as light as your american beer!
The darker one is "Tegernseer Spezial" meaning that it's the most "luxurious" and expensive beer you can get from the brewery "Hofbräuhaus Tegernsee"!

There's a weekend tradition here in bavaria called "Früschoppen". You would like it.
The men of a village would meet in the village pub after church on sunday morning and drink beer and eat "Weißwürste" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weisswurst) all day long.
We still sometimes do that! But we combine it with listening to original 45RPM records from the 50ies^^
