Good speakers for a 2 x 10 cabinet? Empty
PostSubject: Good speakers for a 2 x 10 cabinet?   Good speakers for a 2 x 10 cabinet? Icon_minitimeWed Mar 24, 2010 11:37 am

This is a sort of follow on from a previous thread regarding alternative speakers I was considering for my 2 x 12 cabinet which got me thinking about maybe replacing the speakers in the 2 x 10 closed back cabinet I have.

I have Webers in there at the moment (1 x Blue Pup ceramic and 1 x Silver Ten alnico) and was considering a switch to one or other of the following:

  • Eminence Red Fang
  • Eminence Ram Rod
  • Eminence Copper Head
  • Celestion G10 Vintage
  • Celestion G10 Greenback
  • Celestion G10 Gold

Any experiences / advice on any combination of the above - or any other 10" speakers you would recommend?

cheers

The best sounding 10" to me for solid headroom are the 80s G10 celestion white labels.
The best sounding 10" for blues are old fender CTS like the ones on rev hortons
super deluxe. Those things get this creamy breakup in the mids when pushed.
Of course thats all based on open back cabs..
