Well.. she is up and runnin! the Nocturne Blondeshell prototype is a reality. next task is fine tuning it. I'm not totally sold on orange drops yet or mercury magnetics. The reverb is very surf "dick dale-ish" but I want it more wet. I owe ron williams a lot in his talent taking my ideas and fleshing it all out for me.

well guys.. doing something once again completely nuts but if fender aint gonna do, I am and I'm going to do it better than the other have tried if I can. here's a quick demo I made mostly to prove to the surf guys you can make a 100% tube spring reverb sound decent with one 12ax7a preamp tube and short 3 spring pan.
Sweet sweet sweet. Good luck with the new venture, Tavo! If I had the cash, I'd be pre-ordering one. Tough economy to do what your doing... a strat-up. But you know, not many people get to say they do what they love for a living. Hell, I'd settle for something music-RELATED. This "real job" stuff is for the birds! God Bless, man!

Much appreciation all around and Indeed it would be incredible to do what you love for a living! Oh.. youre talking about me and this jazz?
An expensive hobbie, thats it.. unfortunately. Nocturnes sold well for about 6months, tshirts flopped, and now I am holding onto last years profit in the form of an amp called the Blonde's hell 63! er.. I mean Blondeshell 63'.
Jim from Badcat amps told me it was going to take a lot of money to make a go of this because you need advertising and solid capital to keep production going.
So... uhm... I've got this unfounded hope, an amp and a youtube video and of course a ridiculous dream that someday I'd outfit Brian Setzer with a Nocturne rig for touring!
Hi Tavo, looks like some of us just have to keep going! it's about the same story for me and the Pop-Rock School i started 2 years ago with a good friend and guitarist extraordinaire (he's more in the country music business) in a small area where some kinda established music (say marching band stuff, classical and - sorry for saying that - elitist version of jazz) gets lots of public money and teachers that want to teach young people the music they like, just have to rely on the knowledge and positive image they have among young people to make a living out of teaching the music they like. We will go on, though nearly 2/3 of the income gets back into ordinary mantainance expenses. But we believe it never ever will end. I am with you!
I have to get to a computer where I can check out that video. I've been stashing away some funds for a 6G6-B...so hopefully by the time you're getting some of these made, I will have more than enough. I still gotta get the cab to play through!

sorry about that, I must have worded my response wrong. I haven't had a chance to see the video yet. I was just pondering about the capacitors, since you said that they felt different in the blondeshell as opposed to the vintage blonde

SS watch that VIDEO.. then tell me it sucks or not. I need your help brother telling me ugly truths if necessary.
Tavo, I'm so stoked that I finally got to a computer where i could check the video out, it's been too long. And that, my friend, is an awesome sounding rig right there....I salute your genius, sir!
I saw a little bit of the video on a computer with not so great of speakers. I thought the Blondeshell sounded great, and the reverb was pretty surfy! I'm not sure if this is where the crappy computer speakers came in to play or the camera mic issues came into play, but I did notice a little more bass heft than your other videos had when you played through the vintage 6G6-B's. I will check it out again hopefully over my lunch break with some better speakers where I can turn it up a little more.
I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed to see this get off the ground and fly. It's a unique piece of gear that could be the missing link for quite a few people just as the Nocturne solved many players' question of "Why can't I get that sound?".
