Hi gang.
Just found this video of Brian playing with Jeff Beck. This was taken at the Iridium in New York City on Wednesday, June 9th on Les Paul's 95th Birthday Celebration. This show was filmed professionally and will be released on DVD. Only problem is the video gets cut short right at Brian's second solo :(

I truly hope the planned DVD comes through, and that the entire show is made available, even if it's a bonus feature. It would be exceedingly cool to have Darrel Higham showcased to music fans in the US. I'm thrilled for Imelda May and her success, but I've been a fan of her husband's for years, and would love to see him get some recognition, even if it is as part of the Imelda May band Jeff Beck assembled for this show.
And if someone filmed Steven VanZandt's comment about Brian Setzer being the best guitarist in the room, that would be fantastic!
Of course, I've been waiting a year and a half for the Winter Dance Party concert that was filmed for a PBS Special and DVD on February 2, 2009 to be released. Granted, that was a 5-hour show, but I would think some news would surface about it by now. I think Lee Rocker also filmed a show a few years back in 2005 or so, that has never made it to a DVD release. I hope this Les Paul show has a quicker turnaround for production and release.

Back around 1984 or thereabouts Jeff Beck recorded (or aborted a recording) of) an album with Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker. I read that in some interview with Jim but cant remember where. I dont have anymore information but maybe someone here can shed light on this................

CD/DVD released on Feb 22 2011 and it's going to be a short tour with Jeff playing with the Imelda May Band.
antiMusic is reporting that Eagle Rock Entertainment and ATCO will release Rock And Roll Party To Honor Les Paul on DVD and CD February 22.
Jeff Beck paid fitting tribute to Les Paul last summer, celebrating what would have been the pioneering guitarist’s 95th birthday by playing his friend and mentor’s music, along with classic tunes from the era, in the same Times Square nightclub that Paul played every Monday for 14 years before his death in August 2009.
Sponsored by Gibson Guitar and billed as “A Celebration of Les Paul,” Beck was joined by The Imelda May Band at the Iridium Jazz Club in June 2010. The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee mesmerized the star-studded audience with a tour de force performance of classics Paul recorded with Mary Ford, “How High The Moon,” “Vaya Con Dios” and “Mockin’ Bird Hill,” along with such rock and roll standards as “Twenty Flight Rock” and “Walking In The Sand.”
Following these releases, Beck will take the “Rock And Roll Party” on the road for a short U.S. tour. Beck will once again be backed by The Imelda May Band and its enchanting singer Imelda May, who joined Beck on stage at the 2010 Grammy® Awards for a spot-on rendition of Paul’s “How High The Moon.” Further details about tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.
Later this month, PBS will give fans a first look at a unique edition of this performance with the premiere Jeff Beck Honors Les Paul, a concert special that captures the first night of “The Celebration to Honor Les Paul,” which was recorded on June 9, 2010, what would have been Paul’s 95th birthday. Special guest performers included Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, Gary U.S. Bonds and Brian Setzer who traded riffs with Beck on Eddie Cochran’s rockabilly classic “Twenty Flight Rock.” The program will premiere on PBS stations beginning November 27 and air throughout December. Check local listings for times.
