Seems like there is a movie out about Hank Garland. I think the Guy who plays him is the one who played Jerry Lee Lewis in "Walk the Line"
But it probably won't make it to german cinemas....
It never made it to the movie theatres in Norway either. Probably because the people in charge don't know who Hank Garland was (my local theatre didn't show "Ray" either, so why should I be surprised?). I even read an online ad where they confused his name and destiny with Hank Williams - both amusing, and probably embarrasing for the guy who wrote it....
Anyway, I bought the DVD. It's an OK movie, but a bit confusing at times IMO, 'cos there's not much sign of the characters getting older, although the story covers quite a long time (which could have been solved with the director inserting a "year" in the frame once in a while). The music's good, and Waylon Payne does a decent job miming the guitar parts. But as for the movie, it's nowhere near as good as, say, "Walk The Line", "Ray" or "Cadillac Records" IMO.
