| I'm a little old fashioned: I like to go to the store and buy a new music release the day it comes out. Today, for the first time in a while, I was able to do this with the new BSO dvd. I'm going to be blasting this baby shortly, and I'll post some thoughts. More importantly, I look forward to hearing your feedback. Anyone else get it today? | |

| No yet, Rick!
I need to get paid this month and I am going to buy a Slim Jim Phantom Trio poster of this year, and I am going to get the Japanse version to BSOs Dont Mess With... I am a bit behind these days with the new releases, hheh, but soon I'll get it.
Nonetheless, I think the DVD will be just like the stream we watched 2-3 months ago, maybe some extras, behind the scenes, so, I can wait. |

| I joined the club today Rick. Amazon had it waiting for me at my doorstep when I got home from work.
I don't really know where to begin. I will start with my negatives.
It's a little quiet. Compared to any other DVD of mine, the audio just seems quiet, and, I can only pump my sound system oh so loud before I can get in trouble because I forget to turn it down when I put "The Office" back on. So, yea, just a little quiet.
Now, the positives.
I don't think there is enough room.
This is by far the best looking visual experience on any BSO DVD yet. This is absolutely damn crystal clear! I can not emphasize this enough. It almost looks like it could be a blu-ray (hint hint surfdog...).
The audio (when cranked up) is also friggin awesome. All of the songs sound great and I am very happy with the song selection.
Now, we all had the chance to view this on the webcast, so it really isn't too much of a surprise for us, but I am very happy with the final product here and I think Surfdog and all of the folks in Camp Setzer should be very proud with this DVD, because it certainly does rock.
Thank you, Your loyal cheerleader.

| Good point with the audio Johnny! I was thinkin' I had an issue, and I'm still thinking this may be the case. This is not cool. There may be an error here.. Hang in there SJP! Hopefully when you're ready to buy this will be worked out! Hold on to your receipts! | |

| I am appreciating the tunes from the new album, fast forwarding through all the other stuff I've seen a quadzillion times on my Live in Japan DVD (which I am now buying a second copy)
My 14yr old is watchin it with me and find that we love the camera man that is actually shooting the guitar and setzer playing it!! Lookin good through the PS3 Blu-ray player and digital sound!
ps. my kid wants to know "is the drummer wearing an elvis wig?" I told him hair spray is involved.

| Oh man its incredible. I really enjoyed the press conference. Love how he talked about how cool his guitar teacher was, how he explained why hes putting out live albums (since theres been so much bitching about it recently) and how he got a fat smile when Eddy Cochran came up and man that quality man! plus, i dont think ive ever seen him so on fire! You could tell he was lovin' it too big time! When it was streaming i was praying itd be released which i figured it would. Its marvelous. Loved 16 chicks | |

| I'm hoping to pick mine up today... Wal-Mart/Target usually has ONE copy. Didn't even try yesterday because altho tuesday is always the "official release day", the staff NEVER has the new CDs/DVDs out before sometime in the afternoon...maybe. So, I head over this AM and see if anybody has it locally. If not, I guess I'll have to do the Amazon thing. | |

| Nope. Struck out. Wal-Mart & Target didn't have ANY MUSIC DVDs... let alone BSO. Yet another reason for me to never shop there. Unfortunately, they are becoming the ONLY places to shop for alot of people... If you want anything remotely "different", you'll have to drive to a music retailer or get it online. | |

| I got mine at Best Buy. I didn't do any research, just walked in and they had it. I'm thinking there's a product defect though. Anybody else have difficulty with audio other than Johnny? | |

Were you running it through DTS? When I switched my amplifier over to "movie" mode it took setzer's voice and guitar out of the focus of the center channel and spread it out through the front monitors and put more lows through the subwoofer. did I mention setzer is an ASS KICKIN rocker on a gretsch machine! I was thinkin of selling my SSLVO but now he's got me fired up.

| I picked it up a few minutes ago from the local Best Buy. I can't wait to see it. But I am wondering about the audio portion that was supposed to be available as a standalone download. I swear I didn't dream that, but I see no mention of it in the latest blurbs on the website. Not on iTunes, Amazon, or Surfdog. Sure, I could take Jon's advice and rip (and boost) the audio from the DVD, but I was hoping it would be officially available, since I am keen to take this concert with me everywhere to listen on-the-go, and not just when I've carved out a precious 100 minutes to myself at home.
Even though it kills my iPod battey, I've been known to play the Christmas Extravaganza (iTunes version) just for the audio, so if this show were to show up on iTunes, i'd consider buying it. But I really just want the audio portion, (now that I own the DVD) and hope it will be available soon.

I know.. the guy who was painting my pedals got in a bind and sold it to me for $1500!!! There's no way to get one of these for that price. He'd bought it from a member here on the forum. the only problem is I have to strip the neck and re lacquer it. Its all gummy feeling and I have to keep sanding it to even play it.

| How old is the SSLVO? What's causing the gummy effect? At least you have the skills to fix that yourself! | |

its was made July '05..and while I might be able to fix it, I dont have the exact orange stain. If I had my way its would just be sanded and sealed with tung oil

| Oh man, the performance is unbelievable! Setzer's guitar is on fire! I love the setlist, good mix of newer material (Lonely Ave, Honey Man). This might be a contender for my fav Setzer dvd! | |

| Don't sell the SSLVO!!! Unless it's to me j/k. Though, the SSLVO I played a few years ago was pretty fantastic! Enjoy the SSLVO especially since you got it at the "nice price"! | |

Budg' ..I have the driest hands on the planet, not a sweaty guy thank God. The problem with some guitars like this SSLVO, is that it is a production model and is not truly 100 "Lacquer" finished. That would be to costly and hand made. So what they do is shoot the raw body with a filler/sealer that is urethane based. Its a thin coat once finish sanding is applied and then the lacquer is shot.. So it can be marketed as "vintage lacquer finish" when its not technically true. I have owned many guitars that have actual hand rubbed 100% lacquer finishes and they are incredible. I'm going to take this guitar to a luthier and have him refinish the neck as well as do the tvjones "pull the stock frets and replace with stainless steel setzer spec frets". Its gonna set me back some $400 but.. I LOVE the sound of this guitar.
