Looking forward to seeing Danny B. Harvey on Sunday February 11 at a tiny club with a capacity of 70 called Steve's Guitars here in my little hometown. It's only 3 blocks from my house - should be a great show.

Here is a bit from www.stevesguitars.net about the show:

FRIDAY NIGHT - FEBRUARY 11TH - DANNY B. HARVEY AND THE LIVING DEADS - 8:30PM www.dannybharvey.com

Here comes a rockabilly guitarist like few others. Danny started his guitar playing seriously at 17 when he got a full scholarship at USC to study classical guitar with the legendary Pepe Romero. It wasn't long before he developed his own style of guitar playing and discovered the world of high-energy, rock-a-billy. He helped form the Ripchords decades ago with Levi Dexter and the original lineup had Brian Setzer (of later Stray Cats fame). The Ripchords were riding the wave of this hot genre years before the Stray Cats came on the scene. In the last few years, he's been in a bunch of very cool bands like the super group The Head Cat and the "Whitestripes of Country" duo, The Lonesome Spurs. He's backed up some very talented folks too like Wanda Jackson; the Queen of Rockabilly. He's also been Nancy Sinatra's main guitarist on her tours starting in 2003. He's played duets with the likes of Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers) on his albums and has toured all over the country. He's also an accomplished film composer with 6 film scores under his belt. I first got to see Danny play when he came to visit with Rain Parry. He blew me away then and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us with his hot band. Check out his website and listen to his guitar playing. He should sound very cool in the little room. He's coming with his friend Symphony (cool name for a musician, right?) on standup bass and Randee McKnight on drums. A unique and high-quality act.
