Missing sound post?

Not sure what they are called in a guitar but my 03 Filtertron Country Club does not have the center brace that my 06 has. The non post sounds much more open acoustic and less connected? when plugged in. Has anyone retro fit a bridge support post? Can it be done? I feel it would be a good move and would also cut down the feedback that i get. Seems the Dyno CCs didnt get a post support anyone Know why?
