Thanks, Tele295!
So - when did they start playing "O Little Town of Bethlehem"? New for this tour? Any clips? (I need to know! )

Both "O, Little Town of Bethlehem" and "A Swingin' Joy" (Joy to the World) are new to this tour, but are arrangements written by the late Frank Comstock back in 1945. Comstock, you'll remember, was the guy who wrote the arrangement of "The Nutcracker Suite" for Les Brown in the 1940s, which is the arrangement Brian uses (with a few adjustments for guitar.) In addition to writing for the "Wolfgang" album, he also wrote with Brian on the "Songs From Lonely Avenue" album.
Frank had all these arrangements he kept out in his garage for decades, including the two Christmas arrangements that are new to this tour. I think he offered them to Brian back when he was writing arrangements for "Wolfgang's Big Night Out." I hope Brian considers recording these and other Comstock treasures in the future. That guy was an extremely gifted arranger. They could be called the Garage Band Sessions!

Thanks, Rick. I kinda suspected it was a Comstock arrangement like "Joy to the World", which is on youtube (and posted in Tavo's video thread) already. But I'd like to hear "O little town..." as well...
And since you mentioned it, here's Les Brown's original version of "the Nutcracker Suite" (IMO slightly more dynamic than BSO's version). Merry Christmas, everybody!

Wow, Gretschaholic, I had never heard the Les Brown version, so thanks for posting that link. Rick's spot on in his feedback regarding the guitar part. Thanks!
