65 bucks is a decent price. It doesn´t sound that bad for being such a piece of garbage.
I once saw something like that in a band that was playing at Raleigh-Durham airport for tips. It was not a cardboard bass, but it was similar, made with a stick and some strings, a bucket and something else I don´t remember.... and it didn´t sound that bad either. I may have some pictures somewhere.
But, of course... I don´t see Lee with one of those in his next tour

Cardboard is burnin' quite good I think, and that would be a hell of a final on stage!! Lee slappin' on his burnin' Bass! Brian could play a Danelectro then, that Masonite stuff is not much different I think!

Speaking of burning instruments... that famous Jerry Lee show where he caught the piano on fire.... that sure was W-I-L-D. Would love to hear from someone who was present at that gig.

I read, that he burned down his Piano, because he was angry, that he wasn't listed as the Headliner. That night Chuck Berry played after him, and people say, that after Jerry Lee had burned down his Instrument and Chuck wanted to go on stage, he whispered to Chuck: "Now look if you can top this!" I always liked that story!

I´ve read a few things about it, but never one told in "first person"... that´s why we will probably never know if it´s true or just a story.
