One of the best ways to deal with ebay sellers:

Don't buy on ebay!

Instead, just show up at the venue on the day of the show. Be sure to wear lots of foul weather gear, as you may be outside for a while.

You have the added advantage that Minnesota weather can often be inhospitable.

Look first for men who look like they forked over a bunch of bucks, and then their wife/girlfriend/date didn't want to brave the weather. If you're lucky, you can buy a single seat from them at face price, and then walk through the door with them (that way you know that the ticket is authentic and has not been duplicated).

Failing that, then look for the "scalpers". Be prepared to miss the first 20 minutes of the show. If you're lucky, there is an opening act and you won't even miss your desired headliner. If the weather is truly unpleasant, even the scalpers will want to dump their tix in order to get out of the cold. The street price always drops once the show starts. You may even be able to pay less than face.

Be sure to stop by the venue box office as well. Sometimes a venue will have extra seats at the last minute due to unexpectedly small stage requirements, seats that have been held for the disabled, or for other reasons. It is also sometimes possible to buy unclaimed tickets at will call, usually after the event has started.

Independently, be sure to hook up with everyone on this list who is going. You can meet with them either before or after the show (or both). This way, even if you don't get street tickets, your trip won't be a total waste.
